Shitang Donkey Bar
Known as "dragon meat in the sky and donkey meat on the ground", Shitang "Donkey Bar" is a famous snack in China. Investigating its origin, it is said that when the Chu and Han Dynasties were fighting, Xiang Yu was defeated in Gaixia and shed tears to say goodbye to his concubine (the legend of Yu Ji Bridge and Yu Ji's Tomb is in Feidong). Ji and others were chased by Han soldiers near Shitang Town. They were hungry and hungry. They asked for food from the owner of a hoof horn shop named Huang (who was engaged in livestock trading and meat processing and sales). The owner took pity on him and gave him cooked donkey meat ingredients stewed in a pot. At the same time, Ji and others ate up their stomachs and thought they were delicious food, then ran away again. Not long after, Ji's body was killed by the pursuing soldiers, and her body was blocked under a stone bridge with the water (hence the homophonic pronunciation of the place name "Shitang"). Although the beauty left, Huang Ji's "Donkey Ba" died because of the beauty. The name of the incense was passed down word of mouth, and it became a local specialty.
There is a specialty in Shitang Town, Feidong, Anhui Province - Shitang donkey. Ba, in Feidong dialect, means "baby", and "donkey Ba" means the lean meat on the donkey. There are 5 people in Shitang Town who can cook this dish. The craftsmanship is passed down from ancestors. It is unclear which generation it started from. Several other people with ancestral skills are all named Huang, because it is said that the thousand-year-old Shitang Lvba was created by the Huang family. Historical records record that during the Sui and Tang Dynasties, Shitang was an important land and water area. Some merchants' pack donkeys were often slaughtered and exchanged for donkeys due to long-term service. As a result, Shitang had the famous dish of donkeyba, which was even included in the Song Dynasty. Zheng recommended him as a tribute.
