The main resources of the emirate of Abu Dhabi

Oil resources and economic strength rank first in UAE. Most of the country is desert, with shallow coastal waters, low islands interlaced with shoals and swamps, and no natural harbor. Some small islands can be used as seasonal pastures for raising camels. There are Matai saline-alkali beaches in the western region. Agriculture is mainly concentrated in the southern oasis and the eastern oasis.

Oil is Abu Dhabi's main financial revenue and economic source. Oil in Abu Dhabi accounts for 94% of the national oil. Abu Dhabi attaches great importance to the development of national industries, mainly including food processing, cigarettes, clothing, machinery maintenance, cement, plastics, petrochemical and other factories.
