3. Eel and turtle. In the Hefei area, there is a special food custom of eating eel and turtle during the Dragon Boat Festival, which is called "arrow eel and horseshoe turtle".
In addition, around Chaohu Lake, there is also a popular custom of "hiding at noon", that is, at noon of the Dragon Boat Festival, every household does not raise a fire, but brings rice dumplings and other food to the wild to eat. 4. Flower cakes and amaranth. In addition, flower cakes and amaranth are also eaten on the Dragon Boat Festival. Flower cakes are steamed with leavened dough and sugar.
