Huzhou is an ancient city in the south of the Yangtze River with a history of over 2, years. In the fifteenth year of King Kao Lie of Chu (248 BC), Huang Xie, the Spring Shenjun, moved here to build a city, and then set up Yucheng County, named after Zeduo Caocao. In the second year of Sui Renshou (AD 62), he was ruled by the state, and was named Huzhou by the Taihu Lake. From then on, the name of Huzhou began.

As far back as the Neolithic Age in the late primitive society (about 5-55 years ago), Huzhou was inhabited by human beings.

Huzhou has a history of more than 2,3 years, and it is an ancient city in the south of the Yangtze River with a long history.

In 334 BC, Huang Xie, the Shenjun of Chu Chun, moved here and built a city here, named "Cuocheng" (named after Zeduo Cuochao).

In 266 AD (the first year of Sun Haobaoding in Soochow of the Three Kingdoms), Wucheng was changed to Wuxing County.

In 62 AD (the second year of Sui Renshou), it was ruled by the state and named Huzhou, which was named after Taihu Lake, and the name of Huzhou began from then on.

On April 27, 1949, Huzhou was liberated and divided into Huzhou City and Xing Wu County, and it was divided several times in 1983. Huzhou is also the seat of the first area, Jiaxing area and administrative center of Jiaxing area in Zhejiang Province after liberation.

in July, 1983, the land was withdrawn to establish the city, Jiaxing was abolished, and Huzhou and Jiaxing were divided into two cities, and the system of city governing county was implemented. Huzhou, as a prefecture-level provincial city, has jurisdiction over the city, suburbs and Deqing, Changxing and Anji counties. In 1988, the organizational system of urban and suburban districts was abolished, and in 1993, urban, Nanxun and Linghu districts were established.
