1. jiaozi
jiaozi is the most representative traditional food in China, which has a history of nearly two thousand years and is widely loved by people. There is an old saying in China that "it's delicious but not as good as jiaozi".
Every Spring Festival, especially in the north, jiaozi is an indispensable delicacy on the dinner table. Jiaozi is usually wrapped before 12 o'clock in the evening of New Year's Eve and eaten at midnight, because this is the beginning of the first day of the first lunar month, and "Zi" means "Zi Shi", "Jiao" is homophonic with "Jiao", and eating jiaozi means "making friends at a younger age", which means "happy reunion" at the moment when the new year and the old year intersect.
2. Tangyuan
Eating Tangyuan in the Spring Festival means that the family will be happy and round in the new year. In Sichuan, we should eat dumplings for breakfast on the first day of the New Year's Day. They are called "Yuanbao" and "Deyuanbao". People in Yangzhou will eat Sixi Tangyuan on the first day of the New Year, which means all the best and family reunion.
3, rice cakes
During the Spring Festival, many areas pay attention to eating rice cakes, because the rice cakes, also known as "Nianniangao", are homophonic with "Nianniangao", which means that people's work and life are getting better year by year. Therefore, the rice cakes are not only a holiday food, but also represent a beautiful meaning and hope. As the poem says: "How high the human heart is, how high it is to make food in harmony, so that the year is better than the year, so as to pray for the year."
