In ancient times, people in the village called this section of the river that flows through Youganpu the "Golden Hook River". It originates from Yantian Changbiao, crosses Youganpu, flows through Tangli, Zhutang, Tangxia and Qiaotou, flows into Dongjiang, and goes out to sea from the Pearl River Estuary. According to Chen Botao's Dongguan County Records, the water system from Fenggang Yantian to Qiaotou is called Jiujiang Water, later called Shima River. Within the jurisdiction of Youganpu Village, there are two small streams, one is called Zhuzaili and the other is called Hengli, which meet at Gelikou and flow into Jingou River.

In 1964, due to the construction of the Dongjiang-Shenzhen water diversion project, the river flowed backwards. The Jinguou River system, a tributary of Dongjiang River, was renamed Dongshen River to supply water to Hong Kong and Shenzhen. After the reform and opening up, the sewage discharged from the factory was serious. In order to prevent water pollution, the Dongshen water supply system was changed to pipeline water supply, and the original Dongshen river channel became a sewage channel. In 25, the town government began to build sewage drains on both sides of the river to intercept sewage to Zhutang Sewage Treatment Plant.
