I returned to Xinjiang this summer and was fortunate enough to visit Ili, the westernmost part of Xinjiang. Xinjiang has a vast territory, rich products, charming scenery and pleasant climate. It is really a good place for tourism and summer vacation.
On the way to Ili, I saw farmland, fruit trees, and grape trellises on both sides of the road passing by the car window from time to time. When we are about to cross the Tianshan Mountains, what comes into view is the deep blue and mirror-like tall mountain cold water lake in Xinjiang - Sailimu Lake. We also stayed at the lake for a while to experience the coldness of the lake. The car passed by Guozigou when crossing the Tianshan Mountains. It really deserves its reputation. The fruit trees all over the mountains and plains are lush and green, which is really beautiful. After a day's journey, we finally arrived at Yining City, a special zone city on the border.
In the following days, we went to Tohurasu Prairie. The scenery of the alpine grassland is beautiful and colorful, with dense spruce trees, picturesque mountains and rivers, lush grasslands spread on the rolling hills, and various wild flowers vying for beauty. Kazakh herdsmen’s yurts dot the mountain pastures. The sheep are floating slowly like white clouds. The grass on the hillside was covered with red wild strawberries, and we picked many of them, which were delicious.
I also arrived at the Horgos port in the westernmost part of the motherland, overlooking the Republic of Kazakhstan on the other side of the border river. I took a photo standing in front of the boundary monument, and my uncle from the People's Liberation Army who was guarding the border also stayed in the photo.
After a few days of traveling, I really felt that "I don't know how big the motherland is when I don't go to Xinjiang, but I feel the beauty of the motherland even more when I go to Xinjiang."
Xinjiang is an unforgettable place. I just want to say: "I love you - Xinjiang!"
