Handan is located at the southern tip of Hebei Province, at the eastern foot of Taihang Mountain, between east longitude 1 14 03'-40' and north latitude 36 20'-44'. It borders Taihang Mountain in the west, North China Plain in the east and Shanxi, Shandong and Henan provinces, with a total urban area of 12073.8 square kilometers. Handan is located in the hinterland of Shanxi, Hebei, Shandong and Henan provinces, Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei urban agglomeration and Bohai Economic Zone.
It is the only mega-city in the border area of the four provinces, with a distance of about 200 kilometers from Shijiazhuang, Taiyuan, Jinan and Zhengzhou, and within 450 kilometers from Beijing, Tianjin and other metropolises. The location advantage is very obvious.
Surrounded by three economic circles in China, it is located in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Economic Zone, bordering the Yangtze River Delta Economic Circle in the east and the Pearl River Delta Economic Circle in the south.
