When I went on a picnic in the countryside as a child, what delicious food did everyone cook?

I remember that in the early 1980s, when I was teaching at Gao'an Middle School, I took my students to climb two mountains and had a picnic in one of them.

First climb through Heling in the south of Gao'an.

This is a small mountain (maybe also called Fengling), located in Heling Township. There is a reservoir at the foot of the mountain. It is not big. I forgot the name.

There seem to be only three things that I can still remember. One is that there was a big tree on the top of the mountain at that time, which seemed to be a maple tree or maybe a lotus tree. We once rested next to the tree.

Second, according to local people, Mr. Wu Youxun, a famous contemporary Chinese physicist and vice president of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, is from Heling.

Third, Heling is the boundary mountain, with Gao'an to the north and Fengcheng to the south. Looking south, you can see the villages and fields of Fengcheng.

That must have been in the fall or winter of 1985, and the students at that time were now in their 50s.

But there was no picnic when climbing Heling this time. Everyone just brought some snacks to satisfy their hunger.

What impressed me deeply was taking students to climb Miling.

This Miling is located in the north of Gao'an, at the junction with Fengxin, and belongs to the southern foothills of the Jiuling Mountains.

Miling is higher than Heling. The mountains here are high and densely forested, and there is a road leading to the top of the mountain.

I remember there was a microwave station on the mountain with several two-story buildings and a small courtyard.

There is a construction site for stone excavation on the hillside. The exposed vegetation is full of granite.

At that time, I thought: Did the granite in our hometown come from here?

The most impressive thing about climbing Miling this time was definitely the picnic.

When we arrived at Miling this morning, it started to rain heavily. It would be really troublesome to have a picnic in the rain.

Fortunately, we were well prepared this time. We had sold vegetables and rice and planned to have lunch at a student's house down the mountain.

What did you eat at the "picnic" at the student's home?

Is it rich?

how is the taste?

Almost forgotten.

But some things can never be forgotten.

First, the enthusiasm of the people in Gaoan Mountain.

I remember that as soon as I took this group of students to their home, the parents of the students came out and lit a long firecracker to welcome us.

At that time, my heart felt warm and I was very touched.

Secondly, this student’s family is not rich, but they brought out their vegetables for us, provided us with all kinds of condiments such as oil, salt, sauce and vinegar, and even made time for the whole family to take care of and arrange lunch for me.

I am very grateful.

Third, I always remember this student in my heart. His name is Shi Xinghua.

Classmate Shi Xinghua, you have always been kind, and Teacher Luo has always been thinking about you.

Although more than thirty years have passed since the "Picnic" at Miling, I still remember it freshly.

It is the best memory in my heart, because of that wonderful place, because of the wonderful people there, and because of the student I have always missed.

I am a child from a rural area. I have liked to play with my friends in the village since I was a child. When I am not in school, I like to play outdoors. Usually we go swimming together, catch fish and shrimps, have picnics, etc.!

Before going to the fields for a picnic, we will all plan what everyone will bring. Everyone will bring some potatoes, peanuts, and corn to have a barbecue in the fields. We will also go to the river to catch fish and shrimps and cook them together to make them delicious.

Enjoy a wonderful picnic together. In the 1970s, the school organized students to burn "fire mud", and students had greater "exercise" methods. Roasting sweet potatoes was normal, and the more daring ones would

The cassava from the ground also dares to "come in" (roasted)... Note: Roasted cassava: 1: Ripe: 2: Can't eat the skin and core: 3: The amount at one time should be small: That was when my mother was in Hangzhou for treatment.

, one weekend morning, after my brother packed up a rug, corn cobs, towels and other things, he told me: "Brother will take you to a picnic today."

Picnic?

The 6-year-old me couldn't fully understand it, but I was full of curiosity and expectation.

When we arrived at the creek beach, my brother first laid out a blanket and took care of me to sit down. Then he found stones to build a stove and found dead branches and leaves. As matches were struck, strings of flames danced in the wind!

The brother put the corn cob on a small stick and rolled it up and down in the fire.

Suddenly, the sound of "cracking, crackling" echoed in the air like a beautiful melody, but slowly disappeared after a while... My brother pulled out the corn cob from the small wooden stick, blew it with his mouth, and handed it to me.

.

I couldn't wait to take a bite, wow!

It smells so good!

It’s much more delicious than what mom cooks at home!

Looking at me like a greedy cat, my brother took out a towel and gently wiped the black "whiskers" around my mouth.

The joy of the picnic and the love of my brother are so unforgettable and beautiful in my memory!

Scenes come to mind like yesterday... I hope that no one in the world is sick, and brothers and sisters can live this life together!

When I was a child growing up in a rural area, there were too many delicious things I cooked.

Peanuts, edamame, sweet potatoes, corn, etc.

It can be burned together.

The one that impressed me the most would have to be the roasted fish.

It was a weekend, and I heard that the river was going dry due to pumping water.

A few friends and I got up early to go fishing in the river.
