Mawei Town is located in the southeast of Fuzhou City and belongs to Mawei District of Fuzhou City. It borders the mouth of the Minjiang River to the east, borders Jin'an District to the west, faces Cangshan District and Changle City across the river to the south, and is connected to Tingshan District of Mawei District to the northeast.
