Kansai International Airport, the first in the world, was built after reclamation 5 kilometers off the sea in Quansano City. Airport Island covers an area of 15 hectare and is the first airport in Japan that operates 24 hours a day. Kansai International Airport was opened in 1994. It is connected to the land by a sea-crossing bridge, and Quansano is the only passage from Osaka to the airport. Nanhai Railway and JR Hanaha Line pass through Izumisano City, and it takes 40 minutes to reach Osaka.
