This May Day, I took my children to Suzhou.
Although Suzhou is very close to Shanghai, this is also our first time to go there. When we think about coming to the "paradise place", our hearts are full of expectations and longing.
Book a hotel one week in advance, next to Jinji Lake. After going there, I realized that this place is far away from famous attractions. For example, it takes 40 to 50 minutes by taxi to go to Tiger Hill; even to go to the Humble Administrator's Garden, it takes nearly half an hour by taxi - this is another story.
The high-speed train arrived at Suzhou Station. After getting off, we took our temperature, verified the "Suzhou City Code", and took the subway to the hotel. The Alipay "Su City Code" and the "Su e-line" for taking the subway are both prepared in advance, which saves a lot of time.
Get off at the Times Square subway station on Line 4 and follow the navigation all the way to the hotel. It takes about 10 minutes to walk there. The child walks slowly and is struggling for a while.
There were not many people in the lobby, and I had to take my temperature, show my Suzhou city code, and my travel history within 14 days... I finally completed the check-in procedures. When I entered the room, I felt hot and tired, and didn't want to go out to eat, so I ordered a takeaway for lunch.
The temperature increased on April 30, and the maximum temperature seemed to reach 31°C. The little guy and I felt very hot and did not want to go out, so we stayed in the room for a nap all afternoon, and waited until after 16:00. Feeling that the temperature has dropped, I started walking towards the nearby Jinji Lake.
Before going, I went to the FamilyMart across the street from the hotel and bought two ice creams.
There were not many people by the lake. I don’t know whether it was because of the working day or because the time had not come yet. In short, there were only a few people, so I took off my mask, found a bench to sit down, and ate ice cream. While looking at the scenery.
Beside the bench where we sat, there was a green reed bush, and the leaves of the reeds were rustling in the wind. I suddenly thought of the "Book of Songs? Jianjia" that I was teaching my children today, so I said to my son: Look, this is Reed, the Jianjia in the Book of Songs.
My son had a mouthful of ice cream in his mouth and gave me a confused look.
After eating the ice cream, we strolled along the lakeside. After walking, we came to the vicinity of Moonlight Pier.
There are some European-style buildings here, with cafes, bars, tea rooms, and even some cultural and creative shops. There are also restaurants nearby, and there are not many people inside.
Children’s focus is always on playing, running around along the way.
When he saw a tumbler swinging left and right next to a restaurant, he stopped and imitated it, which made the real lady laugh.
As night falls, the lights by the lake light up one after another. The various neon lights in the distance are reflected in the lake and complement each other with the nearby buildings. It is really beautiful.
It’s really nice to take a walk by the lake in the summer evening.
You can take a cruise at Moonlight Pier and take a night tour of Jinji Lake. As a tourist, you always have to spend some money to "visit here". After buying two tickets, one large and one small, you wait at the entrance and enjoy the surrounding night view.
After getting on the boat, as the boat moves, you can see the Eastern Gate, large sculptures, Ferris wheel, etc. in the night more clearly.
These buildings constantly change colors or situations, making them psychedelic and hazy. Sitting on a boat, watching the water beside you and admiring the night on the lake is an experience.
After getting off the boat, we ate nearby. At this time, there were more people. There were many people coming and going by the lake, but they were far from dense.
Passing by the door of a bar, two young people were singing. They didn’t stop because they didn’t understand the current popular songs (face covering).
I sat down at an Indian restaurant not far from the bar and ordered meals and drinks for the mother and son (forget about the wine). After playing for so long, I was really hungry.
However, the food in this restaurant is not as good as the food I have eaten in other places before. Moreover, I actually found a small piece of plastic in my child's seafood fried rice, which was really surprising.
Looking at the almost full house of diners and the reasonably priced menu, I guessed that it must have a good reputation, otherwise there wouldn’t be so many people coming to eat, but the details are so rough.
The next day, which was May Day, after I returned from Tiger Hill with my children, it started raining at night. I couldn’t visit Jinji Lake anymore, so I ran to the Eslite Bookstore not far away. In a circle.
The bookstore is on the second and third floors, but we started wandering around from the first floor, and also had dinner on the first floor.
Along the way, I saw a lot of exquisite cultural and creative products, which were quite unique.
After walking around on the second and third floors, the bookstore was not as big as expected, but it was not too small. There were not many people in the store. I wanted to find a set of comic books, but I couldn't find them and I didn't bother to ask the store clerk. So, after wandering around for more than an hour, I happily returned to the hotel.
When I went to Suzhou this time, I didn’t make a reservation at the Humble Administrator’s Garden that I wanted to visit, I didn’t get to ride on the Water Ferris Wheel that I wanted to experience, I didn’t buy the books that I wanted to buy; When it rained, I got wet all over, and when I took a taxi, I felt dizzy...it didn't seem like such a wonderful experience.
However, my children and I still felt very happy. We took a cruise, climbed Tiger Hill, visited Jinji Lake, ate fresh loquats and Soviet-style noodles, and received small gifts from the hotel...
From the moment you go out, you don’t know what kind of surprise or shock you will encounter. Therefore, every time I go out to play, I keep myself in a good mood and not be affected by small things.
No matter what, come out and have fun, the most important thing is to have fun!
