Shanghai Science and Technology Museum is divided into 11 museums with different styles. The theme exhibition area, 4 high-tech special cinemas, 3 art galleries for scientists and their footprints at home and abroad, 2 theme special exhibitions and several temporary exhibition halls. The building of Shanghai Science and Technology Museum consists of one basement, four floors above ground and an office complex.

Underground level 1

there are two IMAX science cinemas (IMAX 3D giant screen cinema and ball screen cinema), Zhangjiang Innovation Exhibition and fast food restaurant on this floor. The basement is the public area with the most concentrated service facilities in the museum, which includes a ticket hall, a gourmet world, a leisure corridor and a temporary exhibition hall.

Ground floor 1

The ground floor belongs to the first phase project of Shanghai Science and Technology Museum. The main exhibition area includes five exhibition areas, namely, Biological Vientiane, Crustal Exploration, Children's Science Park, Audio-visual Paradise, Designer's Cradle and a four-dimensional dynamic cinema. In addition, there are APEC main venue, leisure hall, coffee lounge and other service facilities.

Ground floor 2

The second floor on the ground is one of the second exhibition halls of the Science and Technology Museum, which contains four exhibition areas: Earth Home, Information Age, Robot World and Spider Exhibition.
