Shaoyang Vocational and Technical College, referred to as Shaoyang Vocational College for short, is a public full-time ordinary higher vocational college approved by the Hunan Provincial People's Government and filed by the Ministry of Education. Shaoyang Vocational and Technical College was established in 2003, which was formed by the merger of the former Shaoyang Economic and Trade School (1952), Shaoyang Electromechanical Engineering School (1979) and Shaoyang Agricultural School (1957).

The college has four departments: elevator engineering college, automobile and intelligent manufacturing college, information technology and creativity department, accounting and business department, bioengineering department, architectural engineering department, five-year junior college department, public course department, ideological and political education department and continuing education and training college.
