Sabah actually has many names. If you want to buy a ticket, look for KK (Kota Kinabalu). The literal Chinese translation is Kota Kinabalu. If you look for Sabah directly, you won’t be able to find it on the ticket booking website.

Traditionally, we all call it Sabah, and the locals also call it API, which means fire in Malay.

In general, no matter how you call it, just know that this is the place. I just came back from there and the sunset there was beautiful. However, there are not as many Chinese there as expected, and they mainly communicate in Malay and English. However, there are still quite a lot of restaurants that speak Chinese in many dining places, but there are very few that speak Chinese on the road.
