Fu Yang Festival begins on the first day of the traditional lunar calendar every year and ends at the last day, lasting for one month. "Eating sheep in the dog days" has a long history in Xuzhou, Jiangsu Province, which can be traced back to the Yao and Shun period. Since ancient times, there has been a saying among the people in Xuzhou that "a bowl of soup for a sheep does not require a doctor to prescribe a prescription".
The Fu Yang Festival began in the Yao and Shun Dynasties, with a history of more than 4,4 years. In the summer of 2, Xiaoxian, a county under the jurisdiction of ancient Xuzhou, put up the signboard of "Fuyang Culture Festival" for the first time, which received positive response from mutton restaurants in Xuhuai area, further confirming that Fuyang culture has a deep mass base in Xuhuai area.
Influenced by the culture of Fu Yang, Fu Yang Festival has also been held in Shanghai, Jiangsu, Shandong, Anhui, Ningxia, Hubei, Zhejiang and other places in China. Savoring the culture of Han Dynasty and Yao and Shun, commemorating Peng Zu and Huyan, and going outing are the basic themes of Fuyang Festival.
