1. Du Lala

is also known as Hong Andu, and anyone who has seen Border Town should have an impression. Today's Lala Ferry is a conventional means of transportation. Ancient ferries were equipped with monitoring and some necessary equipment, just like buses. The ferry ferries across the river by manpower, and the fare is only 1 pound. But for tourists, Du Lala is a beautiful scenery. After boarding the ship, the boatman will climb the iron rope with a special wooden handle as described in the book and ferry the passengers to the other side.

2. Cruises

Cruises are also a major feature here. It is very pleasant to visit Qingshui River by boat when the weather is cool. But pay attention to the price. You can take a cruise for 1 people. If you can't get the price here in the border town, you can try Hongan Town opposite.

Border towns may be famous, with more tourists and generally higher asking prices.

3. Border Town Fair

Every lunar calendar date ending in five or ten is a border town fair. You can feel it when you wake up in the morning. You can buy local corn Baba in the market, which is wrapped in corn leaves and tastes a bit like corn flour steamed bread.

4. One foot is under the west bridge head of Tea Hongqiao (near Chongqing) in three provinces, and there is a triangular pavilion. A monument is erected in front of the pavilion, which reads, "One foot in three provinces, three chickens crow." This is the junction of Chongqing, Hunan and Guizhou.

5. Regardless of this island.

Now it has developed into a resort hotel, next to the pier of Hong 'an Ancient Town. Because this island is located on the Qingshui River, the former three provincial governments can't manage it, so people here can't solve any problems, so they all come to this island to settle down.

6. Hong 'an Ancient Town

Hong 'an Wharf leads directly to Hong 'an Ancient Town. There are few people, and it is not very lively. It is really a simple ancient town. There are some scenic spots and old shops on the street, such as Border Town Painting and Calligraphy Institute, Yongcheng Cloth Shop and Fuxing Bank. They are all old buildings, which are worth visiting.

7. Border Town

On the other side of Du Lala is the ancient town of Bian Cheng. Walk along the river to the ancient town. There are renovated antique buildings along the coast, several bars and inns and more restaurants. At night, the lights are on and the night scene is beautiful. On one side of the city, there is a Cui Cui Island with a statue of Cui Cui. It is a memorial island built according to Border Town. Tickets to 25 yuan, you have to ferry there.

At the end of the river in the ancient town, there is a water conservancy project with two waterwheels and a small dam, which is very unique. Next to the water conservancy project is the White Pagoda, which was mentioned in Border Town. Of course, it was also built by later generations.

8. Jiulong Mountain

Looking from the main street of Hong 'an ancient town, along the direction of Chongqing, there is a mountain called Jiulong Mountain on the map. There are repaired trails and observation decks on the mountain, and you can see the panoramic view of the whole border town. It's too hot for us to go up, so those students who want to climb the summit must not miss it.

9. Qingshui River

When you come here, you will find that people here love to play with water, especially in summer. There are people swimming in the Qingshui River from morning till night, including young people, old people, clothed people and naked people (usually children). If you are interested in coming here, you might as well get into the water, but you must pay attention to safety.

How to get to

There is no train station in the border town, only cars. Only Xiushan, Huayuan and Songtao drive directly to the border town. At present, in addition to self-driving tourists, anyone who wants to come to the border town has to transfer to these three places. Here are some common routes.

1. Departure-(train/bus)-Xiushan County-(bus)-Hong 'an Town (border town)

If you go to Xiushan by train, after leaving the station, change to Bus No.8 at the roadside bus stop (Wuling Square) or take a taxi to Xiushan Bus Terminal (the bus stop sign shall prevail if the bus route changes). If the bus goes to Xiushan Bus Terminal, you can transfer at the station. You can take a direct bus to Hong 'an (Border Town) at Xiushan Bus Terminal, which is a big white van. Generally, you will pass Yajiang first and then go to Hong 'an.

PS: After entering the bus station, you can directly find the bus to Hong 'an, without queuing at the ticket office to buy tickets. When you arrive in Hong 'an, you get on the bus and buy a ticket. Start rolling, fare 16.

2. Departure-(bus)-Huayuan County-(bus)-Border Town

The bus from Huayuan to Border Town is not at the bus station, but stops at Border Town Square near the station (about 1 minutes' walk). This is a minibus and the fare is 7 pounds.

3. Departure-(train/bus)-Jishou City-(bus)-Huayuan County-(bus)-Border Town

Jishou Station is the only train line leading to the border town except Xiushan Station. If you take the train to Jishou, get out of the bus standing in front of the square to find Huayuan (fare 3). See you in Huayuan 2.

PS: If there is no bus to Huayuan in the square in front of Jishou Railway Station, you can take a taxi to the West Bus Station and take a bus to Huayuan.

4. Others

Starting from Phoenix: Take the bus from Phoenix to Jishou, and the fare is 22.

PS: I wonder if there is a through train from Phoenix to Huayuan. If there is, there is no need to transfer to Jishou.

departure from Changsha: there is a direct bus from Changsha south bus station to Huayuan, which runs three times a day in 15 yuan.

Tip:

Xiushan Railway Station is very big. When you leave the station, you will pass by a taxi to pick up the guests. Taxis waiting here generally cost more. Even if you want to take a taxi, you can park on the side of the road after leaving the station.

How to eat

There are quite a few restaurants and noodle shops on both sides of Qingshui River, and restaurants along the river in border towns are generally more expensive than those in Hong 'an Town. Here are some local specialties. (only recommended from the tourists' point of view, please contact me to add something better)

1. Rice tofu

From the name, I guess it is made of tofu, but the raw material is rice. It tastes a bit like jelly, but it's cold and dipped in hot sauce.

2. Hornfish

Many shops are branded with Hornfish, and the price of restaurants near border towns is around 5/kg. I don't like fish, and the price is not very cute, so I haven't tasted it and I don't know how it tastes. But this is really a local specialty. Interested friends can try it.

3. Hand-torn squid

is a dish in the barbecue stall at night. We were having a barbecue here in Hong 'an Town. It's baked without any seasoning. Dip it in seasoning after baking. Because the seasoning tastes of mustard, I eat very clean. The taste is average. You can ask the boss to brush some barbecue sauce for you, and the guests at the next table will like it. It should be a more authentic way to eat.

4. Breakfast

According to my observation, noodles are not a special snack here, but at present, I only find breakfast noodles here. When there was a market, I only saw some fried skewers and corn Baba. The noodles here are delicious, so I recommend them.

About staying

Online booking: You can find "Hong 'an Town" (the one in Xiushan, Chongqing) on the Mahoneycomb Hotel Channel. Where can I go? I can't find Hong 'an and Border Town online. You have to search Xiushan or Garden for "location", and then enter Border Town or Hong 'an in "Landmark" to find it. You can find Hong 'an ancient town on Ctrip, but you can't find the border town. The method is the same as where to go.

where to live: it's lively here in the border town, and it feels like a phoenix to light up at night. Hong 'an Town is a quaint and quiet old street with only white street lamps at night. Where you want to live depends on your mood. In short, it is not inconvenient to live anywhere, because neither town is big.

Accommodation price: Generally, if you book around 8 yuan online, you can stay in a standard room with air conditioning and private bathroom, but the conditions are not very good. The better one is between 2 and 35 yuan. If you don't book in advance and go to live directly, the price given by some bosses may be cheaper than online.

Tip:

The popularity of the Internet here is late, and many hotel owners don't like to take orders online, so even if the online order is successful, you should call to confirm whether there is a room. In addition, there are many accommodation places near the border town, and you can stay there without reservation.

About buying

Strangely, I can't find a store selling postcards of ancient towns in Hong 'an and Border Town. Many gift shops in other ancient towns don't have them here, but there are many books describing border towns. There are some local grocery stores. I think the bottles, cans and bamboo baskets sold in them are good gifts, full of local characteristics and beautiful. Most importantly, unlike gifts sold in other ancient towns, they should be local.
