Guangxi-ASEAN Economic and Technological Development Zone is located in the north of Xingning District, Nanning City, 30 kilometers away from Nanning City. It was established in March 2004 and was upgraded to a national-level development zone with the approval of the State Council in March 2013. It is an industrial satellite new city in the capital of Guangxi, Nanning.
The city’s back garden, the core industrial zone of Guangxi Beibu Gulf Economic Zone, and the key contact unit of the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council, is the core area for Nanning City to promote industrialization and urbanization and a demonstration area for the transformation and restructuring of overseas Chinese farms across the country.

The provincial development zone is an important carrier of the China-ASEAN Expo, one of the 11 key industrial parks in Guangxi Beibu Gulf Economic Zone, and the core area for Nanning City to promote industrialization and urbanization.
In March 2013, with the official approval of the State Council, the Guangxi-ASEAN Economic and Technological Development Zone (Nanning-ASEAN Economic and Technological Development Zone) was upgraded to a national-level economic and technological development zone, named "Guangxi-ASEAN Economic and Technological Development Zone." The development zone successfully hosted the 2013 Southeast Asia International Tourism and Food Festival, the 2014 Nanning Industrial Sightseeing Tour, and the 2015 National Science and Technology Activity Week. On December 29, 2015, Nanning Public Transport Co., Ltd. officially opened the Anji Station-ASEAN.
The K5 bus line at Xiaomaoshan Square in the Economic Development Zone has a one-ticket system and the fare is 9 yuan per person.
