As a city near the Yangtze River, people in Jingzhou always have fish on their tables. The representative way to eat is to make a fish cake "Fish Cake", also called flower cake in Jingzhou, which is the number one banquet and New Year's Eve table for Jingzhou people. This dish has been a banquet for dignitaries since the Southern Song Dynasty. It was praised by Lord Qianlong as "you can eat fish but not fish, and you can make lily cakes".
2. Gongan Beef-Jingzhou People Hotpot
Public security is a county town below Jingzhou, separated from the main city by a river. Gongan beef is a must-eat dish in Jingzhou, also called beef stove, that is, beef hot pot, which is divided into five kinds of hot pots: beef three fresh, beef offal, pure beef, beef tendon and golden tube (stewed with bezoar throat and beef cartilage). In Beijing, eating beef and drinking morning wine are generous.
3. Jingzhou crayfish-a must-have in summer
In Hubei, summer begins with a pot of crayfish. Jingzhou is also a big crayfish market. There are Gongan Zhakou Town, a demonstration town of fish and rice ecological farming in China, Jianli, the first county of crayfish farming in China, and Honghu, the first city of crayfish farming in China. The crayfish in Honghu Lake are mainly raised in the lake pond, that is, "clear water shrimp", with thin skin and tender meat and small earthy smell. Steamed, braised in oil and garlic are the classic ways to eat crayfish in Hubei.
4. Babao rice-the hometown flavor of Jingzhou people
There are eight-treasure rice all over the country, and Jingzhou eight-treasure rice is the hometown flavor that Jingzhou people are proud of. Its main raw materials: glutinous rice, red dates, lotus seeds, coix seed, longan meat, candied melon strips, candied cherries, sweet-scented osmanthus sugar and so on.
5. Little Hu Duck-Jingchu is a must.
If you have a colleague or classmate in Jingzhou, you must have eaten the special product he or she brought you-duckling. In major stations, airports and transportation hubs in Hubei, Xiaohu Duck is equally divided with Zhou Heiya and Juewei Duck Neck. 6. Pen rack fish belly-delicious and high value
Fish maw with pen container is a specialty of Shishou and a symbolic product of China's national geography. Its raw material is catfish raised in the Yangtze River. Catfish's fresh abdomen has a looming white pattern, much like Bijia Mountain on the edge of Shishou Yangtze River. Therefore, the squid belly is called the pen rack belly. After the fish belly of the pen is cleaned, stir-fry it with the cut chicken breast.
