After the advance team of Daqing Oilfield exploration battle arrived in Tianjin, they moved into Beicang in the northern suburb of Tianjin at that time, and used the old factory building of the former Tianjin Steel Plant as their

residence for work and life. In December, 1964, an oil blowout occurred in Port 5 in Dagang area, announcing the birth of Dagang Oilfield. Since September, 1965, North China Petroleum Exploration Headquarters has moved from Beicang to the east of Beidagang. At that time, Dagang had just experienced the catastrophic flood in 1963, and there were puddles and marshes and saline-alkali wasteland everywhere. It was very difficult to find a place with flat terrain and no stagnant water where people could live in tents. After investigation, we found a sandbank with high terrain to the east of the present Jinqi Highway (northeast of the present refinery). Several wooden houses were built on it, and some tents were set up around it, which became the organ of North China Petroleum Exploration Command and the residence of the battle workers. This is the birthplace of Dagang Oilfield-"No.1 Hospital". Around 1973, the oilfield authorities moved to a newly-built quadrangle, which was named "No.3 Courtyard". After the oilfield authorities moved to the No.3 Hospital, the bungalow with the original office address was taken over by the Mining Machinery Research Institute. In 1978, the whole unit moved to Renqiu (North China Oilfield Station) and then was taken over by the newly established "Gas Pipe Office". Since then, the living facilities except hospitals and schools have gradually moved to the west, and the No.3 Hospital area has begun to prosper. Around 1983, the three-way courtyard bungalow, which achieved the name of "No.2 Hospital", was demolished and the office building at the trachea was built. In 1992, the bureau built an 8-story office building on the original site of the quadrangle, which has been used ever since. Nowadays, the No.1 hospital has faded out of people's memory, and the former foundation can only be vaguely recognized from a barren weed. The No.2 and No.3 hospitals are even more memorable, as if they were separated from each other ...

Today's Dagang Oilfield life base reaches the north bank of Duliu Alkali River in the north, the flood control levee in the south, Nangang Industrial Zone in the east and Shajingzi in Dagang in the west, and a Hong Kong Lion (No.3 Oil Production Plant) is built in Cangzhou, Hebei Province.
