Hello everyone, I am Ershengbufan, the anchor of Dragonfly FM, Lychee FM, and Himalaya. My WeChat public account with the same name is also called Ershengbufan.

Welcome everyone to pay attention and listen!

The public account has a complete presentation in the form of pictures, text and audio, giving everyone a three-dimensional and intuitive impression of Hanshan Temple.

"The moon is setting, black crows are filling the sky with frost, Jiangfeng is fishing and fire is facing melancholy. Outside the Hanshan Temple in Gusu City, the midnight bell is ringing for the passenger ship." Zhang Ji's poem "Mooring at the Maple Bridge at Night" has been studied in our primary school textbooks. It once triggered

The beautiful imagination of generations of teenagers.

Many people came to Hanshan Temple because of this poem.

So today we will start this episode with this poem.

Let me ask a question first, have you ever been to Hanshan Temple?

If you have been there, is Hanshan Temple different in your eyes from what you imagined?

If you haven't been there, what do you imagine it was like?

If there is one key word for Hanshan Temple, it would be: bells!

Time goes back to a late autumn night in the Tang Dynasty. Zhang Ji, who had failed the imperial examination many times, passed by Hanshan Temple in Suzhou and stayed overnight on his way back to his hometown after failing the imperial examination again.

Thinking about the fact that all of my friends are in high school, but I have repeatedly missed the list, I feel depressed and sleepless all night!

Looking at the little fishing fires in the cold autumn night, and listening to the distant bells of Hanshan Temple cutting through the silent night sky, I wrote this poem that has been passed down for thousands of years.

There is also another saying that Zhang Ji came to Hanshan Temple to listen to the bells because of someone's advice, because the loud and distant sound of the big bell in Hanshan Temple can drive away worries.

From here, we can also learn from the side that the bells of Hanshan Temple have been famous since the Tang Dynasty, and they are famous all over the world because of Zhang Ji's poem.

Hanshan Temple is located in Gusu District, Suzhou City. The poem says it is outside Gusu City. Indeed, the Fengqiao area was not within the city at that time.

It has long been divided into the city.

There is a very interesting story about the origin of the name of Hanshan Temple.

Still in the Tang Dynasty, there was a monk who lived in seclusion in Hanyan Cave in Tiantai Mountain, Zhejiang Province. His name was Hanshan, also known as Hanshanzi. He was very talented in literature but had a weird temper and his behavior attracted people's attention. He often went to major temples for no reason.

He often curses in the air and often laughs and behaves in a stateless manner.

The monks thought he was a madman, but he left laughing.

Just when everyone was humiliating him and laughing at him, Shide, a cooking monk from Guoqing Temple, fell in love with him at first sight.

Shide, as the name suggests, means picked up. Yes, the unfortunate monk Shide was an orphan. He was picked up by a monk to work as a cook in Guoqing Temple.

Shide often collected some leftovers to feed Hanshan, and from then on the two became even more inseparable as brothers.

Seeing that the two were so close, the abbot simply brought Han Shan into the temple and worked as a cooking monk together.

From then on, the two of them devoted themselves to studying Buddhism, reciting poems and writing lyrics, so both of them had profound attainments in Buddhism and literature.

One day, when Hanshan was humiliated again because of his weird behavior, he asked Shide: There are people in the world who slander me, bully me, humiliate me, laugh at me, underestimate me, belittle me, hate me, and lie to me. How should I deal with it?

Shi De said: Just tolerate him, let him, let him go, avoid him, be patient with him, respect him, ignore him, wait for a few more years and you can see him.

This is the origin of the wonderful dialogue "Hanshan Asking for Found Things" that has been passed down from generation to generation and has great philosophical and Confucian significance.

Later, Hanshan and Shide were invited to preside over Hanshan Temple. Hanshan Temple was originally named Miaolipu Mingtayuan.

Monk Shide later traveled to Japan and established Shide Temple in Japan.

The Miaolipuming Pagoda Courtyard was eventually renamed Hanshan Temple, and Hanshan was also revered as the Poet Monk by the world.

Hanshan Temple was first built in the Southern Dynasties. It is also the place where Jigong became a monk, "after wine and meat passed through the intestines, and the Buddha sat in the heart."

Ancient poems say that Hanshan Temple is outside Gusu City, but now it has been included in the urban area.

It also belongs to a densely populated area with scenic spots, not far from Guanqian Street, gardens and Tiger Hill.

Hanshan Temple is built according to the ancient canal, facing east and west. Friends who come to travel can also take a look at the ancient canal dug by Emperor Yang of Sui Dynasty.

When we go to Hanshan Temple today, we will see the three characters Hanshan Temple on the yellow wall at the door. This was written in the Ming Dynasty.

The host at that time specially invited Wen Zhengming, a great literary giant from Jiangnan, to write it. Wen Zhengming was excellent in poetry, calligraphy and painting, and was one of the four great talents in Jiangnan.

He also agreed to write, but with a condition: one thousand taels of silver per word.

However, the host was short of money and couldn't find enough money to save three characters, so he only left the word "Hanshan" and took the money and left. No matter how much the host tried to persuade him, it was of no use.

At this time, Tao Junxuan, a calligrapher from Shaoxing, Zhejiang Province, came over after hearing about this and said that he could help the host fill in the third word "Temple" for free, but there was a condition, that is, there must be a signature after the word.

Therefore, the three characters "Hanshan Temple" in two different fonts and different styles that have been circulated to this day have been curiously discussed.

We went to take a closer look.

This is one of the highlights of Hanshan Temple.

Historically, Hanshan Temple was one of the top ten famous temples in China. There are many historical sites in the temple, and its inscription art is world-famous. There are stone inscriptions by Zhang Jishi, poetry steles by Yue Fei, Tang Bohu, Kang Youwei and others.

Throughout the ages, it has attracted many calligraphers to observe and learn.

This is the second point to watch!

The Buddhist sculptures in Hanshan Temple are also unique!

In the Sutra Collection Building, the main hall beam is engraved with a scene of Tang Monk and his disciples returning from studying scriptures in the west.

In the hall, there is a stone carving statue of Han Shan that he found, with his chest exposed and his belly exposed, chatting and laughing happily.
