Founding process

The school was founded in 1914 as Dianbai County Middle School, and was renamed as Dianbai County Junior Middle School in 1925. The school was located in an electric town. After the outbreak of War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, the school was moved to Dacun Administrative Village, Xiadong Town. In 1942, it was renamed Dianbai County Middle School with the approval of the Provincial Education Department. After liberation, it merged with Dianbai County No.4 Middle School and was named Dianbai County No.4 Middle School. In 195, it moved to shuidong town with the county government. In 1956, it was renamed Dianbai County No.1 Middle School. In 1963, it was designated as a key middle school in the county. In 1968, it was renamed as Hongwei Middle School.

Basic information

In 1995, with the approval of the provincial people's government, the school was rated as a provincial-level school, covering an area of more than 6, square meters.
