History of Shuangjiang Ancient Town
On March 3 1927 and March 3 1, a demonstration was organized to protest against the British and American imperialist shelling of Nanjing and Chongqing citizens, which was brutally suppressed and massacred by reactionary warlords, killing and injuring thousands of people. This is the Chongqing massacre on March 3 1 day. Yang Angong was arrested on April 4th and died heroically in Futuguan, Chongqing on April 6th at the age of 29. After liberation, his old home in his hometown was turned into an exhibition hall for people to visit. Shuangjiang is the hometown of martyr and the fourth president Yang, with a long history, rich products, unique landscape and many celebrities. The main scenic spots include the exhibition of martyrs and Yang's former residence and their life stories, the condolences of senior Kuomintang generals Bai Chongxi Qiu and Chiang Kai-shek, and 8 scenic spots known as "the ancient charm of Shuangjiang", including 2 provincial-level cultural relics protection units, 4 county-level sites, 3 first-class sites, 5 second-class sites and 7 third-class sites, totaling 15.
