For a long time, Zhoushan has been isolated overseas due to being separated by a river, and the island economy has been greatly restricted. Abandoning water to land and reach the other shore has become an increasingly strong dream in the hearts of Zhoushan people. On September 26, 1999, this dream finally came true. With the great attention of relevant national departments and the Zhejiang Provincial Party Committee and Provincial Government, the Cengang Bridge, the first chapter of the majestic poem of the Zhoushan mainland-island project, officially started construction. The entire island-connecting project consists of five cross-sea bridges and connecting roads, including Jintang, Xihoumen, Taoyaomen, Xiangjiaomen and Cengang. It starts from the main island of Zhoushan and passes through the four islands of Lidiao, Fuchi, Cezi and Jintang.
