Speaking of Dujiangyan, I believe most people know that it is the earliest water conservancy project in China, and it is still playing its role until now. There is also a water conservancy project with a long history in Ningbo where the author is located, that is Tashan Weir, which, together with Dujiangyan, is called "Four Ancient Water Conservancy Projects in China".

Compared with Dujiangyan, Ningbo, an ancient weir, seems to be not well-known, but its function is not small at all. Tashan weir was built by the then county magistrate Wang in the seventh year of Taihe in Tang Dynasty (AD 833), which was later than Dujiangyan 1000. At that time, due to the tidal upwelling, which endangered farmland and urban water use, the first thing Wang Junshou did when he took office was to harness the Yinjiang River. He personally explored, designed and built this ancient weir with a length of more than 100 meters, which stored water on the upper side and blocked the salty tide on the lower side, thus solving the irrigation problem in Shiliba Township.

As a native of Xinningbo, I have never been to Tashan Weir before, but recently I went to Tashan Weir with the help of a friend. Tashan weir is located next to a small village, which is surrounded by a small river and has a good ecological environment. From time to time, waterfowl can be seen playing in the Yinjiang River outside the village. This village seems to be some years old. There are many ancient houses in the Ming and Qing Dynasties, some of which are still inhabited today. Shuttling through the ancient houses, you can find some traces left by the years.

It is also surprising that this ancient weir can still be preserved after 1000 years of scouring by the Yinjiang River. This ancient water conservancy project and Dujiangyan are generally used today. Next to Tashan weir is an ancient temple, which is said to have been built at that time to commemorate the king county magistrate. Next to the temple is a stone tablet erected in the Qing Dynasty. 20 17 CCTV's "Exploration and Discovery" column also made a special report on Tashan Weir. Dujiangyan, Sichuan is a "world cultural heritage", and its weir is not bad. In 20 15, this Millennium-old weir was listed as "World Irrigation Project Heritage", which is the second world heritage in Ningbo after the site of the Sanjiangkou Grand Canal.

In Ningbo, this place is quite famous, but many people can't pronounce its name. It is not called Tashan Weir, but TUO Weir. Now Tashan Weir seems to be developing tourism, and the old houses in small villages are also being repaired, but it seems that there are not many tourists. In Ningbo, it seems that crayfish in Yinjiang River are more famous than other mountain weirs.
