There are many beautiful legends in every place, and I will cite three here:
1. In the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, Danyang was the territory of the State of Chu. In 222 BC, Qin Shihuang pacified the Jiangnan area of Chu State and set up Huiji County, which governs the present southeastern Jiangsu and eastern Zhejiang. Danyang was also changed to Yunyang County. It is such a small Yunyang county town that I don't know how much effort Qin Shihuang spent, and even destroyed the "kingliness" of this place at any cost.
It turns out that Qin Shihuang did this for his reasons. At the beginning, when he passed the Danyang realm on an eastern tour, he followed the historian and divined that Yunyang had "kingliness". Therefore, Qin Shihuang was very afraid that Danyang would have an emperor to compete for his country, so he immediately ordered to break Danyang's "Feng Shui". One of these "measures" is to change the name of Yunyang county with "Wang Qi" to "Qu 'a". The second measure is to change the section where the "Huijichi Road" passes through Danyang into a curved one, that is, to deliberately turn the straight road into a curved one, and its purpose is also to break the "kingliness" of Danyang.
The name was changed and the road was finished, but the alchemist's prophecy was unfortunately finally fulfilled. In 43 years (222 years) after the death of Qin Shihuang, the first emperor, Sun Quan, was born in Danyang. Sun Quan was originally from Fuyang, Zhejiang Province, and his grandparents moved to Qu 'a (now Situ Town, Danyang). His grandfather Sun Zhong made a living by growing melons in Situ, Danyang, and was buried in Baihe Mountain in Situ after his death. His father Sun Jian was buried in Wuling Port, Situ, Danyang, with a tomb called "Gaoling". In the Southern Dynasties, there were two generations of founding emperors in Danyang. One of them is Xiao Daocheng, whose nickname is Shao Bo. He was Emperor Qi Gao of the Southern Dynasties, and was born in Xiaojiaxiang, Xianxian Town, Danyang at the age of 56. After his death, he was buried in Taihe Mausoleum in Lion Bay, Huqiao, Danyang. The other is Xiao Yan, whose name is Shu Da, who was called Liang Wudi in history. He was also from Xiaojiaxiang, Xianxian Town, Danyang. He died in a great disaster in 549, at the age of 85, and was buried in Xiuling Village Lane, Jinglin Village, Danyang.
2, the origin of learning
Confucius took his disciples on a trip. One day, when I passed a village, I saw a couplet posted on the door of a family:
Being rich is not rich, but being childless is also blessed
After reading it, Confucius thought for a long time, but he didn't understand what it meant. He turned around and asked, "Disciples, who can figure out what this couplet means?" Some disciples scratched their heads, some bowed their heads and said nothing, and some simply shook their heads to show that they could not answer. There was no way, so Confucius had to consult the householder.
Confucius knocked at the door and explained his purpose to the householder. The householder replied, "Old Master Q laughed. This couplet is about my family. The little old son has ten daughters, one daughter is a daughter, and ten daughters are a daughter, so the couplet says,' Being rich is not rich', and the little old son has no children. As the saying goes, the son-in-law is a half-son, and the little old son has ten sons-in-law, all of whom strive to be filial to me. We old couples are often invited to dinner by our daughters and sons-in-law, which is much more blessed than those who argue with their sons and daughters-in-law every day. Therefore, it is said:' It is also blessed to have no children under your knees'. "
After listening to the explanation of the householder, Confucius couldn't help praising: "Wonderful!" Look at the disciples behind him again, all with shame. Confucius said to them, "Learning means learning and asking questions. If you are not ashamed to ask questions, you will learn virtues. Why should you be ashamed? " The teacher's words made all the disciples nod and say yes. The teachers and students thanked the householder and went on their way again.
3. The story of Shuangdun Mountain
According to legend, in ancient times, in Qu 'a (e), near Danyang, a dragon was injured and his life was in jeopardy. This matter was known by the Jade Emperor in heaven, but it could not be widely publicized, so that ordinary people could know the location of the dragon. Therefore, they had to send gods from heaven to heal, and take thunder and lightning as a signal to return to heaven as soon as the signal arrived, so they could not stay, so as not to be ostentatious. After accepting the jade emperor's will, the immortal hurried on his way, carrying two loads of medicine. But it was a long way, and although he walked quickly, he finally received a signal to return to heaven immediately on the way. There was nothing the fairy could do, so he had to put down two loads of medicine on his shoulder and return to heaven. With the passage of time, these two loads of medicine gradually formed two mountains, and that pole became a path, hence the name Shuangdun Mountain, and the location of the dragon was never known. It was only later that people heard that during the Great Leap Forward, when people wanted to open a mountain for vegetation, they dug a hole, and when they dug it out, thousands of snakes were intertwined, including a relatively thick snake head wearing a crown. People panicked and fled when they saw this, and the snakes disappeared the next day, which was intriguing. Therefore, people have reverence for the legends of the two mountains, and have moved the graves of their ancestors here to enjoy the bliss of the world.
(Postscript: Due to the development of modernization and the construction of various state-level development zones, Shuangdun Mountain exists in name only, because a mountain has been leveled and families have moved to their ancestral graves. It is said that firecrackers resounded through the sky on the day of moving the graves. )
