Cang Qiao Zhijie is 1.5km long and consists of three parts: river course, residential buildings and neighborhoods. Most of the residential buildings are buildings in the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China, and many terraces with local characteristics are well preserved, with strong water town features. In 2113, Cang Qiao Zhijie Historic District won the UNESCO Award for Excellence in Heritage Protection in the Asia-Pacific Region.

In Song Dynasty, many warehouses were built here, especially granaries. Later, a bridge in the northeast of Fuya was called "Cang Qiao" and this street at the southern end of Cang Qiao was called "Cang Qiao Zhijie".

Surrounded by mountains and rivers in the old street is an important historical relic of Yuewangcheng, which is located in the center line of the old street. It starts from Shengli West Road in the north and reaches Luxun West Road in the south, with a total length of 2.2 kilometers. From north to south, there are Cang Qiao, Longmen Bridge, Baozhu Bridge, Fu Bridge, Shimen Bridge, Jiuwu Bridge, Xiguan Bridge and Huangyi Bridge in turn, adding to the water city atmosphere.
