Suzhou code is a product of the evolution of Chinese digital culture. It is a simple and fast way to record numbers before Arabic numerals are widely used in our country. It is easier to learn than Chinese numerals and simpler than Chinese uppercase numerals. It is cheap, so it can be popular among the people for a long time. With the widespread use of Arabic numerals, the Suzhou code, invented and used in China, has gradually withdrawn from the stage of history. In some rural areas in southern my country, some older accountants are still using this number. It is said that among some small merchants and hawkers in Hong Kong and Taiwan, the price marking method using Suzhou codes can still be seen. Although Suzhou code, as a representative of Chinese digital culture, has gradually disappeared, its role in the history of Chinese numerical records still has very important research significance.
