Harbin Northern Forest Zoo, formerly known as Harbin Zoo, is located 46km away from Hamu Highway in Harbin, Heilongjiang Province, and officially opened to the public on September 28th, 24. Covering an area of 558 hectares, the park is the largest forest zoo in China.
Harbin Northern Forest Zoo Park has excellent ecological environment and rich vegetation, with a forest coverage rate of over 95.8%. Garden and natural landscape are integrated, which is a natural "big oxygen bar".
Harbin Northern Forest Zoo, one of the eight comprehensive zoos in China, is called the Animal Kingdom. You can see many rare animals in the zoo, such as northeast tiger, Asian elephant, white-lipped deer, red-crowned crane, white tiger, white lion and polar bear.
1. Location
Harbin Northern Forest Zoo is located in Gezidong, southeast of Acheng, Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province, adjacent to National Highway 31 and 43 kilometers away from Harbin City, with convenient transportation.
2. Topography
Gezidong area is a hilly area with an average elevation of 25 meters. Most of the peaks are round and flat, and the width can reach more than 1 meters. There are not only peaks and valleys in Zidong area, but also mountain springs and streams. It has a natural Shan Ye landscape, which is suitable for the growth and reproduction of various animals and helps to simulate the original environment of animals.
The whole park is characterized by forests, with mountains as the skeleton and water as the support. The organic combination of mountains, rivers and trees is unique.
3. Climatic characteristics
It is located at 45 31' north latitude and 126 51' east longitude, with an average annual temperature of 3.6℃ and an average annual rainfall of 532.3mm. Snowfall in winter is generally 2 days, with an average frost-free period of 143 days.
