There are many places to visit outside the south gate of the new district.

I recommend Kouguchi Fukuzhong’s Large Plate Chicken. It has large private rooms, the food is good, and it’s not too expensive.

Don’t go to Xiangpai Fang Hot Pot, it’s super expensive. Little Sheep is slightly better, but also more expensive.

The dishes at other places in South Gate, like Zhongyuan Food City, are just average. There are also some small restaurants, which basically do not have large private rooms.

The Jijia Restaurant in Ximen is very unique, delicious and relatively large, but the portions of the dishes are very small.

Actually, there is another place, which is the food stall, which is very affordable and tastes good, but it’s getting cold now, so I’ll go there in the summer.
