Explanation of several phrases about Du Yinghong

Practical genius

I always think that genius is not suitable for reality, and reality is not suitable for genius. Genius is more aesthetic, and there is often a paradox between aesthetics and practicality. Genius can easily and directly perceive the world and thus squander life until it dies, so genius always disappears or commits suicide after the epiphany. Therefore, the happiness of genius is called sad by the realists, and it is also touching. However, there is such a genius who turns this talent given by heaven into practical talent and puts the abstract aesthetic genius into practice. He has enough talent to create, but if he only creates, he will end up like other geniuses, so he found a realistic way out for his genius, so as to save himself and save more geniuses. This genius has more possibilities than artistic creation, he runs schools and education, he creates art bases, he runs websites and publishes, and he holds the short-lived genius by the throat with realistic material existence, leaving it in the world. He is Du Yinghong. When I say this about him, someone will definitely disagree with me, but don't forget that only a genius can discover the existence of another genius, and a genius can always discover what others can't and reveal it. If so, learn from it.

savagery of elegance

Elegance is not worthy to be described by anyone. I'm sorry I'm so rare and strange, but I haven't seen a man who can really be called elegance. Du Yinghong, of course, is not, but he has this elegant temperament, which often can't cover up the barbarity in his bones. This barbarism just reflects his innocence and the natural qualities of a man. The reason why I like him is not his elegance and savagery, but that he has remained angular in the material city of Shenzhen for so many years, rather than disgusting smoothness and cunning.

Evil Kindness

People are not born evil or kind, nor are they born pure and perfect. All these things are made and hammered. A person's pursuit and choice determine whether his soul is noble or not. Good intentions may lead to evil actions and endings. A person who can see through the essence will not judge people easily. And I won't jump to conclusions about anything easily. I just want to say to Du Yinghong: Dude, your kindness has some evil, which is human nature. When you are brave enough to show your human nature, I see that you show some unknown truth and beauty.

Steady uneasiness

Du Yinghong said that he only wanted to be a steady person and do things honestly, thus showing his deep anxiety. Anxiety is the natural reaction of everyone who has a sense of life. As long as a person lives, he/she is cursed by fate, and there is no freedom in life, so freedom has become the goal pursued by people. As long as you live, you must endure all kinds of tangible and intangible constraints and restrictions from life, life, society, family, her/his, own, spiritual and material. This kind of anxiety is fully expressed in his series of works "The Hoop Curse". I'm not a critic and I can't represent the majority. I can only react to him and his works accurately or wrongly on behalf of myself. Think of it as whispering!

selfless selfishness

who dares to think that he is completely selfless under the sun? Then he/she is selfish. The truth can't be told, and if it is told, it will be unrecognizable. When Du Yinghong spontaneously founded the Shenzhen Contemporary Art Library in Shenzhen, a new city on the edge of mainstream economic art, he spent manpower, financial resources and energy without complaining, and bravely assumed the role and responsibility he thought he should bear, a sense of mission has been explained in him. Some people say that he achieved selfishness by selflessness. This man is right. If everyone in the world can achieve selfishness with selflessness, then the world will be peaceful. But if the speaker is up to no good, then he should try it and see if he can do it.

ambition without desire

many people's strong will comes from inner weakness, and those who are complacent will feel inferior, and those who have no desire will have the wildest heart. Therefore, these negatives are often the motivation of the able. It pushes ambitious people to the other extreme. Whoever says that ambition is not good or that he/she doesn't have any ambition, then he/she is either hypocritical or doesn't know enough. The promotion and retrogression of the whole history and society is an ambition history, and one ambition overturns another and produces more ambitions. Du Yinghong is ambitious, and this ambition is quite big. No desire will be his spiritual height. Everyone has ambition, but not everyone is willing or able to achieve it. I believe he has the ability to carry it through to the end. Bless him.

After explaining the meaning of the word, I think of a time when I created a library in Nanshan, Shenzhen. The handsome and strong Du Yinghong worked as a mannequin for the photography works of the artist Han Chao across the hall from my studio. After that, he came to my studio to take a shower. I saw Du Jun covered in bronze oil, wrapped in a cloth and smiling shyly and badly. At that moment, it was beautiful! My eyes can no longer be pure, nor can they be pure. Up to now, I vaguely remember that piece of cloth, which is similar to the one used by Jesus when he hung on the cross. As for our friendship, I have never profaned it since the exhibition "Ongoing" was known.

Lin Shanwen: I met Du Yinghong

At 6 o'clock in the morning, Du Yinghong woke up under the instruction of the biological clock and looked at his wife and children who were still asleep. He got out of bed. Today is the nth exhibition of art into community activities, and he had to go to Chuangku (Shenzhen Contemporary Art Creation Library) early.

He hurried down from his own building and drove out of a residential area in Nanshan District. He didn't drive directly to Chuangku. As usual, after coming out of his house, he turned a corner and drove in the other direction-driving to the school gate of Shenzhen University. He didn't forget the agreement that he needed a lift with another artist yesterday. Thirty minutes later, they arrived at the Shenzhen Art Creation Library in the central area of Baoan.

He first opened the office door, put back some books that his friends had rummaged and pulled out yesterday, and then went back to his studio to turn on the computer and began to sort out the procedures and materials of the day's activities. At about nine o'clock, his assistant came to the office. He explained to them the day's work and made some arrangements. He wanted to go to the studio to get his work done. Seeing that time was a little tight, he drove directly to today's exhibition venue. The exhibition was arranged all day yesterday, and he needs to re-check whether the labels of his works are all ready, and some of his works need to be adjusted. Because an artist was slow to respond, his work had not been delivered yet, so he called again to urge him. The other party said that he couldn't find a suitable car to transport the works. Without further ado, Lao Du gave an account of the work at the scene, and found a suitable car near a vegetable market in Nanshan ...

It was already 2 o'clock in the afternoon when the works were transported back, and he called a box lunch, which was usually rice covered with Sichuan style pork, and needed to add pepper and a bottle of beer. It took him two minutes to finish eating, and then he began to check the microphone and other audio equipment. He saw that there was still some rubbish on the ground, and he began to look for a broom. But at this moment, the phone that asked for directions came over, and he began to repeat what this place was ... and then he talked with the space owner for a few words ...

At three o'clock in the afternoon, guests came one after another, and the opening ceremony began at four o'clock. During this time, you will see him walking through the crowd and being busy. He didn't have the leisure to chat with people with a glass of red wine ... He stopped occasionally and talked a few words ... He was doing something important. At 7 o'clock in the evening, a group of about 2 people made their way to the Firecracker Restaurant. Needless to say, it was Lao Du who paid the bill. His nickname was "Boss Du". When artists in Shenzhen found him, he enthusiastically arranged the reception ... During the dinner, he raised his glasses frequently, and Lao Du was a little drunk. He began to sing (often it was the song "Good Socialism" that tore his heart). Some friends were sent away, some came from other places, and he took these friends with him, and another artist's "Red Flag" went with him. More than a dozen people went straight to Haiyan Bar in Shekou, continued to drink, and talked about some bad phenomena of contemporary art in China today, talking about someone's work is really bad. During the dinner, my wife called her daughter to make a phone call, which was regarded as an inspection ... Soon, it was after one o'clock in the morning, and he led these people to a night snack stall in a night market, ordered some porridge and a few stir-fries, and finally sent them back to the hotel. When he got home, it was already three o'clock in the morning, and his wife and children were already asleep ... < P > Of course, this is my imagination of his day's life. But over the years, in my contact with him, the impression he left on me in Shenzhen generally constituted such an imagination. From his frequent tossing out of things and many affairs around him, I guess he spends most of the year like this. Here, I have no intention of portraying him as a woman who abandoned her family and devoted herself to art. He may often make a mess outside for lunch and say, "I'm going home." When a friend comes and has to leave, he sometimes takes everyone to a restaurant, signs the bill in advance and then goes home.

Life is a river of memory, and emotions become constant and touching in memory and imagination. The understanding and trust of a person originally comes from an encounter. After a short and pleasant and beautiful relationship composed of fragments, time and space often separate people from things. Fortunately, it is memory that bears the function of repair. We rely on warm memories to inspire each other's lives.

I didn't have face-to-face contact with Ying Hong for six or seven times, and I only spent 1 days together, at most. I may live in the same room only three times, and I don't talk all night. I will stay in bed from 2 am to 4 am or even longer because the other person "can't reply". What's left is a long phone call between Yunnan and Shenzhen or Beijing and Shenzhen, as well as the information and pictures sent by his frequent activities and guessing what the other party is busy with when he thinks of each other. Time just took away four years. In contact and imagination, in some hard-won results, we are warm and encouraged.

Du Yinghong is a media person, action art, a painter, a critic, a curator, an event organizer, an art educator and a broker. Without such a long list of terms, intercepting any one of them can't sum up his identity. But one word is more appropriate, and that is "artist". I think Du Yinghong is satisfied with such an identity, and this judgment comes from my personal experience. Personally, he sometimes regards "the thinker of action" as his ideal goal.

This involves the question of the artist's identity judgment. Is the word artist limited to "making concrete visible and placeable works?" What kind of work is a good work. If the work is piece-by-piece, where is the category of this "piece" limited? Duchamp said, "My most satisfying work is my life." Everyone may not agree with this sentence. Our role model, Ye Yongqing, also said, "I am proud to be a peddler of artistic lifestyle." John berger, a British critic who is now admired by everyone, is actually a painter, novelist and cultural historian. That is to say, a single expression can't satisfy a thinker and activist who is quick and talented.

Du Yinghong is a typical "action" artist. He is an artistic talent who understands that artists in the new era should not be limited by the traditional "single" artistic concept. Art is no longer a "solid object" that is placed in the corner of an art museum for the convenience of collection, sale and passive waiting for others to appreciate, reflect and criticize. Art is a "public service behavior" that is integrated into the artist's daily behavior. Art has changed from a noun to a verb. The artist's mission is to promote the influence of "art" through multiple narratives. By these artists with a sense of mission, they all combine a variety of creative ways.

It's very clear here: I regard Du Yinghong as a work. The sculptures and paintings he created are known as works, which are part of Du Yinghong's work.

Second

Ying Hong's life is full of legends. He was a fearless and action-oriented person since he was a child. At the age of 12, he began to write couplets for most people in the village. At the age of 13, he opened a seal cutting shop to make money in the surrounding towns and villages. At the age of 17, he opened a personal decoration department in the urban area. All this was the result of no professional training, self-study and hard work-his life was smooth. Unexpectedly: at the age of 18, Du Yinghong was sentenced to six years in prison for assault. Ying Hong is full of sense of justice and likes to fight against injustice, but she has gone to the opposite side of life because she is too good at fighting and fighting. It seems unfortunate, but it is fortunate. Prison gave him the opportunity to study and think. He did not break the jar, but found a sense of balance between "righteousness" and "Tao" Because of his literary talent, Du Yinghong quickly became a literary worker and leader in prison. In those years, he made a lot of pen pals and intellectuals, which laid an important foundation for his later artistic career.

After he came out, he went to Shenzhen to engage in art education, won many awards from excellent teachers at all levels, and was invited to compile a national kindergarten art textbook published by the China Youth League. When his career was booming, he made a new choice in his life: he gave up his career in children's education and entered the career of a professional artist. The clarity of Ying Hong's life goal is reflected in his step-by-step planning and breakthrough.

that is, around 22, when the art world needed a "curator", Du Yinghong started a revolution in Shenzhen, and organized and planned many exhibitions. I remember that in 25, he brought the "Southern Life" of seven Guangdong artists (Deng Rongbin, Tian Liusha, Mo Junfeng, Hu Chijun, Zhou Jinhua and Jiang Hong) to Kunming to hold an exhibition. At the symposium entitled "Local and Regional Characteristics of easel painting", Lao Du spoke for the "artist" and left a deep impression on me.

Soon after, he started to set up a "Shenzhen Contemporary Art Creation Library", in which more than 4 artists, some poets and critics participated. In the meantime, he also tossed a lot of things. Later, Chuangku was moved to the present F518 Creative Culture Industrial Park because of the "fire at the city gate". As soon as he settled down, he began to hold a housewarming exhibition called "restart and refresh" and an open day for artists' studios, so that artists could have a reason to "open the door to receive guests". The "My Art Gallery" he planned was interviewed and reported by hundreds of media organizations including CCTV.

Let's take a look at his resume: planning "Shenzhen Mobile" Contemporary Art Exhibition, "Living Art Collection Series Exhibition", planning 3 series activities of our art museum, planning to restart, refreshing 13 art activities of Shenzhen Contemporary Art Creation Library, planning 8 series exhibitions of Shenzhen Made Young Artists Promotion Plan, hosting Shenzhen Avenue Live Art Festival, planning to open a series of exhibitions, planning a road for Shenzhen-Hong Kong Contemporary Art Exhibition, and planning 8 exhibitions of contemporary art entering the community.
