Pu'er yellow-heart yam (sweet potato) is a specialty of Ning'er Town, Ning'er County, Pu'er City, Yunnan Province.

Pu'er yellow-heart sweet potatoes have fewer diseases and are almost the same size. They have a small, long cylindrical shape and smooth appearance. They have thin skin, yellow hearts, high starch content, and a sweet and delicate taste. They have the reputation of Saiban millet.

In Ning'er County, sweet potatoes are called "yam", and the most famous one is "Pu'er yellow-heart yam".

"Pu'er Yellow Heart Yam" is mainly planted in village groups such as Manfei in Min'an Village, Ning'er Town, Laozhang Village and Laowang Village in Minzheng Village.

The altitude of these places is 1220-1420 meters, the average annual temperature is 18°C, the annual precipitation is 1400 mm, the pH is around 6.1, and the soil is red fragrant wood soil turned from volcanic ash.
