Extended information
In p>194, Hannah and barbera directed Puss Gets the Boot, which was nominated for the animated short film award in the 13th Academy Awards. The studio hopes to have a diversified animation product portfolio, so although The Fired Cat has been a success, Hannah and Fred Quimby, the director of barbera, don't want to make more cartoons of cats and mice.
However, Hannah and barbera, who were deeply surprised by the success of The Fired Cat, chose to ignore Quimby's boycott and continue to develop the theme of cats and mice. Only this time, Hannah hopes to return to her original company and work for Eisen, who he feels very loyal to.
Hannah and barbera had a meeting with Quimby. Quimby found that although Eisen had the honor of making The Fired Cat alone, he had never really contributed to the project. So Quimby gave Hannah and barbera the freedom to pursue their cat and mouse ideas. Tom and Jerry, the most famous work in their careers, was born.
