The history of Fenghuang Town can be traced back to the Majiabang Cultural Period as far back as 6,000 years ago. The ancestors who lived here created a splendid ancient culture.
From the Spring and Autumn Period to the late Yuan and Ming and Qing Dynasties, this place belonged to Wu County and was called Heyang at that time. During the Jiajing period of the Ming Dynasty, Heyang Town was destroyed due to disturbances by Japanese pirates and was later moved to Tianzhuang.
It has been under the jurisdiction of Changshu County since the sixth year of Liang Datong, and was placed under the jurisdiction of Shazhou County in 1962 (Shazhou County was abolished in 1986 and Zhangjiagang City was established).
In 2003, the original three towns of Gangguang, Fenghuang and Xizhang were merged into the new Fenghuang Town.

Tianzhuang Ancient Town has a long and ancient charm.
Tianzhuang Ancient Town has a complete collection of historical buildings and historical streets of the Ming and Qing Dynasties. The core protected area covers an area of ??4.62 hectares. It was created by the Qian family of Xipu in the Ming Dynasty to collect land rent. It reached its peak during the Qianlong and Jiaqing years of the Qing Dynasty.
The existing Yang family residences (Bangyan Mansion, Yang Family Xiaofang, Yang Family South Residence), Chiang Kai-shek Residence, and the Stele Museum are all precious heritage passed down to future generations by historical celebrities.
Bangyan Mansion was built by Yang Dai during the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty. Yang Dai was a very famous filial son during the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty. His great-grandson Yang Sisun passed the exam and passed the exam, so it was called Bangyan Mansion. The architectural form and specifications were high and it was typical of the Qing Dynasty.
The official residence building has a construction area of ??1948 square meters. It has five rooms and five entrances. It is a hard mountain-style brick and wood structure. The stone drum piers and brick-carved gate towers in the mansion are all original historical remains.

The first characteristic of Yongqing Temple is its "ancient": it was built during the reign of Emperor Liang Wu of the Southern Dynasties and has a history of more than 1,500 years. It is one of the "480 Temples of the Southern Dynasties" and was once as famous as Lingyin Temple in Hangzhou and Jinshan Temple in Zhenjiang.

Since its reconstruction in 1992, the incense of Yongqing Temple has been flourishing day by day.
