Going to Bangkok without going to the Grand Palace is like going to Beijing without going to the Forbidden City.

The Grand Palace, a magnificent and legendary palace, not only has splendid architectural art and culture, but also has a magical story brought by a jade Buddha. In order to explore your splendor, I came ...

In 1434, after a burst of lightning and thunder, a Buddha covered with lime was found in a stupa destroyed by lightning at the foot of Chiang Rai House, which seemed to be an ordinary clay sculpture Buddha statue. Later, because the lime on the tip of the Buddha's nose peeled off, people "followed the trail" and a rare jade Buddha was presented to the world.

Chiang Rai is the capital of Thailand's northern border, bordering Myanmar in the northwest and Laos in the northeast. Here, the mountains and waters are green, and it has a mysterious atmosphere that will last for a long time. The famous "Golden Triangle" is more than 4 kilometers north of Chiang Rai. Now, the eye-catching jade Buddha in the Jade Buddha Temple of Bangkok Grand Palace is said to be the one found in the Chiang Rai Pagoda that year.

what kind of story is there? Let's swim and talk.

The Grand Palace is adjacent to the Chao Phraya River. It was built after the old palace of the old capital city. After Rama I, the founding monarch of the Bangkok Dynasty, ascended the throne, he moved the capital from Tun Li Wu to Bangkok on the east bank of the Chao Phraya River in 1782. After generations of continuous expansion, it became a grand grand palace complex.

A palace wall with a height of about 5 meters and a total length of 1,9 meters surrounds the Grand Palace. The architectural style of the palace is mainly Siamese. The garden is full of green grass, flowers and trees.

After entering the door, you can see the Golden Roof of the Palace across a large green lawn on the east side. It is understood that the Bangkok dynasty lived in the Grand Palace from Rama I to Rama VIII. After Rama VIII was stabbed in the palace in 1946, Rama IX moved to the newly-built Jilada Palace in the east of the Grand Palace. Now, the Grand Palace is not only used for coronation ceremony, court celebration and other ceremonies and activities, but also open to the public at ordinary times, becoming a famous tourist place in Thailand.

The scenic spots opened by the Grand Palace are concentrated in the northeast corner. When we get to the big platform in this area, everyone feels that their eyes are not enough! The buildings inside are magnificent and very concentrated. It's really spectacular.

Here, the three buildings, Ledana stupa, Sutra Tower and Bilong Temple, which are arranged side by side from west to east, are broken down one by one.

Ledana stupa was built by Rama IV to collect the sternum relics of the Buddha. The gold piece outside the tower was later attached by Rama V. The luster of pure gold makes this round tower full of arc beauty reveal its rigidity and majesty in softness, glittering in the sun, which is particularly eye-catching, and therefore becomes the landmark building of the Grand Palace.

the tower body has protruding parts in four directions, with a tower cage on it and a small tower on it. Inside the stupa, there is another small golden pagoda dedicated to the Buddha stupa.

Located in the middle of the big platform, the "Tibetan Scripture Building" was built in the First Emperor, which is even older. The Buddhist Scripture Building is a Cambodian-style building, supported by dozens of huge golden pillars. There is a Buddhist Scripture made of gold in the Buddhist Scripture Building. Looking up from the bottom of the sutra building, you can't see the spire above, only the golden pillars below.

There is also a small and lifelike model of Angkor Wat, which is full of Cambodian customs, next to the Buddhist Scripture Building. A little boy sat on his father's shoulder and looked at it curiously.

The building with a red cornice and a tower on the top is the "Bilong Temple of Heaven". Bilong Temple is a cross-shaped, Cambodian-style tower, also known as Khmer Tower. The temple is surrounded by 12 corner columns, and the stigma is decorated with lotus flowers. It is also called the Temple of the First King, which contains the memorial statues of Emperor Rama I to V and is only open on April 6 every year.

There are two golden stupas in front of the temple, which were built by Rama I in memory of his parents. There are 2 monkeys in the tower base. Unfortunately, there are too many people to get a panoramic view, so we have to borrow a panoramic view from the Internet (the picture below is from the Internet)

Tota's monkeys are very attractive. Look, the way they lift their hands and try to hold the tower is ferocious and lifelike!

After seeing these three magnificent buildings, it's time to go to the Jade Buddha Temple to see the Jade Buddha.

It is said that after the discovery of the Jade Buddha in Chiang Rai, the neighboring Lord of Chiang Mai was alarmed, and he ordered the Jade Buddha to be welcomed to Chiang Mai for offering sacrifices. The elephant who could transport the jade Buddha didn't give him face. When he reached the fork in the road between Chiang Mai and Nanbang City, he suddenly ignored his instructions and turned to the road to Nanbang City ...

The Lord of Chiang Mai had to sacrifice the jade Buddha in Nanbang City for more than 3 years, and then another Lord invited him from Nanbang City to Chiang Mai to sacrifice it, where he kept it for 84 years.

When King Chaiyaquotuo became the Lord of Chiang Mai, there was a battle for the throne in Luanba Bangcheng (now in Laos). King Chaiyaquotuo led his troops to pacify, and in 1552, he welcomed the jade Buddha to Luanba to worship, and then to Vientiane to worship. The jade Buddha was worshipped in Laos for 226 years.

in 1778, when Li Wu was swallowed, Rama I of the Bangkok dynasty became a general, led the army northward, conquered Vientiane, and welcomed the Jade Buddha to the Liming Temple for worship. After Rama I established a new capital in Bangkok, he welcomed the Jade Buddha to the Jade Buddha Temple in 1784.

Having said that, it's really time to go to the Jade Buddha Temple to see the "beauty" of the highly respected and mysterious jade Buddha.

The Jade Buddha Temple, built in 1784, is the most famous Buddhist temple in Thailand and one of the three national treasures in Thailand, with an area of about 1/4 of the Grand Palace. Inside the temple, there are three wooden double eaves at the top, the roof is towering, the eaves are drooping, the blue tiles are decorated with red and yellow frames, and the eaves are decorated with dragon heads, Long Lin, phoenix tails and other components. The outer wall of the temple and the quadrangular columns are decorated with colored glass sheets, which are like colored scales shining and dazzling in the sunlight.

You are not allowed to take photos in the Hall of the Great Hero, where the Jade Buddha is dedicated, so you can only look at it with telephoto before entering the Hall.

The Jade Buddha is carved from a whole piece of jade, with a green body, a width of 43.8 cm and a height of 66 cm. It sits precariously on an 11-meter-high golden altar, with his hands tilted back and his belly down, his right hand on his left hand, and a crown on his head.

The royal family has made three seasons of brocade clothes for the Jade Buddha according to the hot, rainy and cool seasons in Thailand. The ceremony of changing brocade clothes for the Jade Buddha according to the seasons must be presided over by the king himself on auspicious days to protect the country and people's safety. Every May, during the farming season, the king also presided over the ceremony in front of the Jade Buddha to pray for a bumper harvest. (The picture below comes from the Internet)

I'm still feeling the grandeur of the Jade Buddha Temple and the magical auspicious feeling of the Jade Buddha. A "The Chakri Group" combining Tessie is in sight.

The Chakri Group is the largest imperial palace in the Grand Palace, which was built in 1876 during the reign of Rama V. Rama V received British education from childhood and spoke fluent English. He ascended the throne at the age of 16. After he succeeded to the throne, he visited European countries many times and was deeply influenced by western culture. He was regarded as the founder of modern Thailand.

"Jieji" means "divine disc" and "emperor", and it is also the name of the imperial dynasty in Bangkok. The basic structure of this hall belongs to the Victorian architectural art of the Queen of England, but there are three square spires on the top of the hall belonging to traditional Thai architecture, which is a model of the perfect combination of the essence of architectural art in Taixi.

...

A trip to the Grand Palace left a lot of memories.

I am deeply moved by the fact that Thai artists combined rich imagination, realism and romanticism to gather the achievements of architecture, painting, sculpture and decorative arts of the early dynasties in Thailand, and absorbed the essence of Asian and European cultures, making the Grand Palace the most perfect, largest and most national palace in the architectural history of Thailand, as well as a wonderful work in the architectural and artistic history of the world.

and Thai people's belief in Buddhism. It is said that Bangkok is the place with the largest number of Buddhist temples in the world, with more than 4 Buddhist temples in size. The meaning of "Bangkok" itself contains the meaning of "Buddhist capital". Thailand is also the country with the largest proportion of people who believe in Buddhism, and more than 9% of the people in the country believe in Buddhism.

time is always in such a hurry, and the excitement can only stay in your heart. Finally, I look back at the Grand Palace from this door, and I really don't want to say goodbye to you.
