Huanjiang Maonan Autonomous County is located in the northwest of Guangxi, at the southeast foot of Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau in northwest Guangxi, with Rongshui County in the east, Yizhou and Hechi City in the south, Nandan County across Dagou River in the west, and Libo and Congjiang counties in Guizhou in the north. It is 331km from Nanning, the capital, 34km from Guilin, 48km from Jin Chengjiang and 67km from Yizhou, the hometown of Sanjie Liu, with convenient transportation. Founded in 1987, Maonan Autonomous County is the only autonomous county in China where ethnic minorities live in concentrated communities. The county covers a total area of 4,572 square kilometers, governs 6 towns and 6 townships, and has a total population of 378,2, of which 59, are Maonan, accounting for 14.38% of the total population. Maonan, Zhuang, Miao, Yao, Mulao, Shui and Yao live in the county. The vegetation in the territory is well preserved and the ecological environment is excellent. There are two national nature reserves, namely, the Mulun Karst World Natural Heritage Site around the Yangtze River, the Jiuwanshan Nature Reserve and the world-famous Wenya Tiankeng Group. There are many precious animals and plants in the territory. 12 Huanjiang is the hometown of vegetable cattle in China, and there are rich mineral resources such as coal, lead and zinc in the country, both inside and outside the famous areas of "vegetable cattle" and "five spices" (fragrant pigs, fragrant cattle, fragrant rice, fragrant ducks and mushrooms). Huanjiang is the third largest forestry county in Guangxi, a national ecological demonstration area and a national greening model county. There are 9, national nature reserves in Jiuren and Mulun Karst and the second largest Wenya Tiankeng Group in Guangxi, which is an important part of the world natural heritage "Karst in South China". Huanjiang is also the "hometown of orchids in China".
