Late spring has passed, and summer in Jinan is coming.

Early summer is the most beautiful season in Jinan. The spring water began to seep and converge, and the water in Daming Lake was clear and light green. The green willows by the lake hang down like gold thread, and the lake is full of lotus flowers. Elegant lotus bones are blooming among the green lotus leaves. Flowers are thin and delicate, not as warm and shy as flowers in midsummer, and clusters of land are floating with faint fragrance. Suddenly I remembered the poem "Little Pond" by Yang Wanli, a poet in the Southern Song Dynasty: Spring is silent and precious, and the shade of trees shines on the water and loves sunny and soft. The delicate lotus flower bud shows a sharp corner from the water, and a naughty little dragonfly stands on its head.

What a beautiful picture.

In this early summer in Jinan, besides the charming scenery, the most anticipated thing on the tip of the tongue is Pu Cai.

In the past, Daming Lake was very big. When the lake is full, it is flat and swallowed, and the smoke is vast. Therefore, people praised Jinan as "a lake surrounded by lotus flowers and three willows, and a city with mountains and half a city". Between the lotus flowers in Daming Lake, at that time, there was really a bunch of beautiful vegetables in the lotus root. Ceng Yun said: "Pu Cai in Daming Lake looks like wild bamboo shoots and tastes like bamboo shoots. It is a treasure of plants and vegetables in several northern provinces." Today, Daming Lake separated by Becky Road and Wulongtan has been filled as Beiyuan Town, and this "half-city lake" has long since ceased to exist. Fortunately, Pu Cai in Jinan is still edible, but most of it is planted and picked in ponds along the Yellow River.
