Pak Lei is a specialty of Suizhong, which enjoys a long cultivation history, high yield and excellent quality, and enjoys a good reputation throughout the country. Suizhong Pak Lei belongs to Yanshan Mountains. As early as the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty, residents from Shandong and Hebei moved in and settled in the northwest mountainous areas. Later, with the increase of population in mountainous areas, more pear trees were planted, and sporadic planting developed into a large-scale orchard. There are still over 300-year-old pear trees in Qiu Zi Gou area in the northwest of Suizhong. There are two main factors in the formation of Pak Lei specialties in Suizhong, one is natural conditions, and the other is artificial creation. The landform in Suizhong is composed of "six mountains, one water and three fields", with mountainous northwest, loose soil, good drainage and ventilation, and suitable temperature and rainfall, which are superior objective conditions for the growth of Pak Lei. The working people in Suizhong have been engaged in pear cultivation for a long time, constantly improving and selecting the best among them, and gradually cultivating excellent fruit varieties with local characteristics. The fruits of Pak Lei in Suizhong are mostly oblong or nearly round, with small calyx depression, slender fruit stalk, golden color and waxy luster. The average fruit weight is1.25g, and the maximum fruit weight can reach 250g. Thin skin, thick flesh, small stone, delicate meat, crisp and juicy, sweet and refreshing. Fruit contains a variety of nutrients. Besides being eaten raw, it can also be made into dried fruit, canned fruit, brewed fruit wine and fruit vinegar. According to the data, Pak Lei also has the medical functions of promoting fluid production to quench thirst, moistening lung to relieve constipation, and strengthening heart and diuresis. After liberation, Pak Lei has developed rapidly. There are 200,000 strains of Pak Lei in 1949, and the annual output of Pak Lei in Pak Lei is 5.8 million Jin. After years of development, there are 17 towns in the mountainous areas in the northwest of Suizhong and the hilly areas in the middle, and Pak Lei is rich in resources. According to the statistics of 1983, there are more than 800,000 Pak Lei plants in the county. It covers an area of more than 50,000 mu and has an annual output of more than 30,000 tons, ranking first in Pak Lei Province. Suizhong Pak Lei is sold to more than 20 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions in China and exported abroad, with an annual export volume of 6000 tons to 12000 tons. It is well received by consumers and enjoys a high reputation at home and abroad. During the period of 1994, in the process of developing fruit production, attention should be paid to improving fruit quality and orchard standards. Highly engaged in improved seed breeding. Among the 280 village-level standard orchards in the county, 3/kloc-0 orchards were rated as advanced standard orchards at provincial and municipal levels. Apple, Pak Lei and sour fruit are the main fruit bases. From 65438 to 0997, four varieties including Suizhong Pak Lei and Jinhua Pear participated in the 4th National Agricultural Expo and were recognized as national high-quality fruits. It has also been identified by the state as a demonstration county for standardized fruit production and industrialized fruit production.
Suizhong was called Loyalty Institute in ancient times. Because of its rich products, it was once called "invincible loyalty".
