The hilly area in the northern half is rich in mountain springs, which flow into Liusha River, Yangwei River (flowing into Shitoupi Reservoir) and Guogang River (flowing into Jiangkou Bay). There are three streams in the middle, which flow into Fotan Bay and Jiangkou Bay respectively. There is no stream in Jingwei Peninsula. There are Jiangkou Bay and Houcai Bay to the east of Jiangkou Bay, and there are large beaches and shallow seas for aquaculture. This has formed an economic structure in which agriculture is the mainstay in the northern half and aquatic products are the mainstay in the southern half.
