Laoyou Noodles is a local snack in Nanning City, Guangxi and surrounding areas. It is the golden signature of Nanning’s traditional snacks. The unique effect of clearing the mind and refreshing the brain belongs to Guicai. Laoyoufan originated from Laoyoumian, and its name comes from a story between two old friends. Nanning Laoyou Noodles, Liuzhou Snail Noodles and Guilin Rice Noodles are the "three major rice noodles" in Guangxi. In 2007, it was selected into the first batch of 26 intangible cultural heritage lists announced by Nanning. In 2008, it was selected into the second batch of autonomous region-level intangible cultural heritage lists.
