Dongkeng is known as "Little Macao". For hundreds of years, the folk customs of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao have blended together, and commerce and trade have gathered together. Every year during the "Prostitution Festival", thousands of people from Hong Kong, Macao and the surrounding areas will come to participate, making the fair trade, employment contract and all the people have fun as the three main contents of the "Prostitution Festival", which lasts for hundreds of years. Later, many folklores were derived, such as "you must find something when you sell your body", "you must meet a fairy when you shop" and "you must be lucky when you buy something".

At present, there is no buying and selling of employees in the Prostitution Festival, but the folk customs of market food, fairy precipitation and fairy shopping are still popular, and at the same time, it is integrated with activities such as float parade, ten thousand water guns spraying fairy water, and China ethnic dance performances such as Weizhai, Miao Village, Dong Village, Yi Village, Dai Village and Tibetan Village.
