How did the name Beidaobu come from? Many people have made textual research, but there is no final conclusion. Some people say that it is called Beidaobu because the ancient silk road runs along the north side of Weihe River, and therefore there is a river crossing pier, so it is named Beidaobu. Others say that the Longhai Railway, which was built that year, is north of Weihe River, so it is called North Road.

Anyway, I think the origin of this name is still a mystery. It was when the name was changed that year that the government renamed Daonan Sub-district Office as Beidaobu Office in order not to let this memory disappear.
