I went there in March last year. The original route was similar to yours, but I changed my mind later.
After reading this you will know why I went this way.
My route is Yangzhou-Suzhou-Tongli Ancient Town-Hangzhou, double flights, the entire trip lasts 12 days, all expenses including souvenirs, no more than 4,000 yuan.
I went alone, so the three of you traveling together should save you some money.
The details are as follows: 1) First stop: Yangzhou.
Transportation and Accommodation: Flying from Guangzhou to Nanjing, the air ticket is more than 400 yuan after discount, and the additional cost of airport transportation is about 500 yuan.
After getting off the plane in Nanjing, take a CMB directly to Yangzhou, which takes about 2 hours.
Stayed at Yangzhou Baishe Youth Hostel, 30 yuan per bed, with average sanitary conditions and Internet access.
Attractions: Yangzhou is a very small city. Basically I walk everywhere, even skipping the bus.
I think Ge Garden and He Garden are both worth seeing. Everyone has different feelings, so I won’t go into details. There is also the Slender West Lake, but if you are going to Hangzhou, you can ignore this attraction.
In Yangzhou, I mainly do one thing - eat ~ snacks: I think Yangzhou cuisine is very delicious. I recommend going to Yechun Teahouse for morning tea and eating soup dumplings and jade dumplings. For lunch, you can find *** Hechun chain restaurant nearby.
The dumplings and noodles are cheap and delicious. For dinner, you can find a restaurant to order from. Lion’s Head is highly recommended. It’s rare to find such delicious Lion’s Head in Guangzhou.
Looking back now, I want to go there again.
2) Second stop: Suzhou.
Transportation and accommodation: Take a bus from Yangzhou to Suzhou, which costs more than 70 yuan.
Staying at the Youth Hostel on Pingjiang Road in Suzhou costs about 40 yuan per bed.
It is recommended to stay in this youth hostel because there are three major advantages: first, Pingjiang Road is the most well-preserved ancient city in Suzhou, which means you are staying in a scenic spot; second, this youth hostel was converted into an old house, which is antique and very charming.
, and very clean; thirdly, it is very convenient to eat, it only takes 15 minutes to walk to the food street.
Attractions: Pingjiang Road itself is an ancient city area. There are many cafes, book bars, painting bars and various small bars in the ancient city, as well as some interesting small souvenir shops.
I just lazily stayed there for three days.
There are always many girls wearing cheongsam and holding oil-paper umbrellas taking photos by the window. They really look like the people in the paintings~ Suzhou gardens are famous all over the world, but I personally don’t think it is necessary to see them all.
The Humble Administrator's Garden is next to the Suzhou Museum. You can go and see it. You must go to Su Bo. It's very shocking.
You can also check out the Liuyuan Garden, the design inside is quite interesting.
Hanshan Temple has a great reputation. Unfortunately, there are too many tourists and it is not clean at all. You may consider whether to go.
In addition, Shantang Street is free. It is an ancient street and you can go shopping directly. There are many snacks there that you can buy as souvenirs.
Eat: You can buy a hand-drawn map of Suzhou at the youth hostel. It is very useful. The roads in Suzhou are clearly marked in it. The most important thing is that the delicious food is also marked!
Follow the above guide to eat one by one~ However, I think the food in Suzhou is not as delicious as Yangzhou. There is a small store on Pingjiang Road selling braised chicken feet. Opposite is a dessert shop. I think the food from these two stores is quite good.
Eat; in addition, the mute fried dumplings are also delicious, not far from the hotel.
I go there every morning to buy steamed buns, which is an easy breakfast.
Lunch and dinner are usually eaten at the food street.
3) The third stop: Tongli Ancient Town.
Transportation and Accommodation: I originally wanted to go to Wuzhen, but after talking to travel friends at the youth hostel, I decided not to go because Wuzhen has become very commercialized and expensive.
In fact, there are many ancient towns near Suzhou that are no worse than Wuzhen.
So I finally decided to go to Tongli.
It takes 45 minutes by bus and the ticket seems to be 15 yuan.
I took the afternoon bus and arrived in Tongli around 6pm.
There are two major advantages to doing this: first, it staggers the peak tourist period, so you can enjoy the unique style and tranquility of the ancient town at night; second, there is no admission fee to enter the ancient town after 6 pm, which costs 80 yuan!
However, the hotel owner must come out to pick you up, otherwise it will be easier to get lost if you walk alone.
It was the weekend, and it cost 120 yuan to stay in a single room, which was considered the most expensive night.
Usually it is said to only cost about 80 yuan.
Attractions: The town itself is an attraction. After dinner in the evening, I sat by the river drinking beer and chatting with a group of young people from all over the world.
It’s also possible to venture outside the town center, but be sure to stay safe.
People in the ancient town go to bed early. Except for the lights in the center of the town, ghost movies can definitely be shot in other places.
When staying in an ancient town, you must get up early to listen to the chirping of the birds, the footsteps of the residents in the town, and the hawking of breakfast. It really feels like you have returned to the rural village of your childhood~ There are many varieties of breakfast in the town, not only
It’s delicious, and very eye-catching~~ Eat: I forgot the name of the restaurant, it’s called Lu’s Restaurant or something, and it’s her house, by the river.
Pig's trotters, fried eggs, and water shield soup are highly recommended~ However, I saw some netizens saying that eating by the river is expensive, so you can search online.
In addition, there are many varieties of snacks in the town. Tuisi cakes are delicious and not expensive!
It’s good to buy more as souvenirs ~ 4) Fourth stop: Hangzhou.
Transportation and accommodation: Taking a bus from Suzhou to Hangzhou costs about 70 yuan and takes more than an hour.
I stayed in a youth hostel by the West Lake. I forgot the name. You can find it on the official website of the youth hostel. It costs about 60 yuan per bed.
Very clean and the transportation is very convenient.
But if possible, I recommend staying in Jiangnanyi Youth Hostel. You will know why below.
