My story with books

I like reading, and reading is the main content of my life.

Because my parents are both teachers, I have lived on campus since I was a child. I have loved books since I didn’t know much about reading.

When I entered elementary school and learned a few words, I began to read books that were beyond my age.

Although there are many unknown words in the book, I can always figure out and understand the meaning of this sentence through the words I already know before and after, and understand the general meaning of the book. This makes me very excited, and I start to look for it.

Books to read.

When I read books, I basically read whatever books I could get my hands on, without any guidance or restrictions from anyone.

When I was a child, my favorite books to read were comic books and folk tales.

Folktales are a kind of pamphlet, which contains folklore and mythological stories, written in a popular and vivid way, and equipped with beautiful illustrations.

There is a mythical story that I still remember its contents.

The story tells that a witch was jealous of the beauty and kindness of her two neighbor girls, and used witchcraft to turn them into two peonies in her garden, one green peony and one red peony, which bloomed every day for her to enjoy.

The poor two girls had tears on their delicate petals every morning, bemoaning their fate of never being able to return to human form.

At this time, a young and handsome boy heard about it and was determined to rescue these two kind-hearted girls. So he traveled across thousands of mountains and rivers, went through many hardships, and defeated all kinds of monsters sent by the witch. Finally, he finally broke the witch's spell.

He cursed and rescued the two girls.

This story moved me for a long time.

I was moved by that brave and kind young man.

At that young age, I still imagined that I was one of the two girls who was rescued by the young man. I would even dream about the young man fighting monsters and monsters at night.

There is also the story of "The Cowherd and the Weaver Girl". I was moved by the kind-hearted seven fairies who dared to resist the Queen Mother's rules and the tyranny of the heaven, and pursue a free love and happy life.

When I stayed at my grandma's house during the summer vacation, I would sneak to the river behind the house at night and hide in the bushes to see if any fairies floated there from the sky to take a bath. I was reluctant to leave until the adults shouted to go back to sleep.

On a summer night, I was lying on the mat in my grandma’s courtyard, using a banana fan to drive away mosquitoes, looking up at the distant sky, imagining the scene of heaven. I waited for many nights, but I didn’t see the Nantian Gate open, only the sky full of

The stars accompany me slowly to sleep.

The most interesting thing is that I often put sheets or gauze on my body, pretend to be the seven fairies, and dance around on the bed.

Although I think it is childish when I think about it now, the beautiful, kind, brave and beautiful stories in the book really cultivated my young mind.

Of course, there are many folk stories, such as "Treasure Plate", "Ma Liang, the Magic Pen", etc., which will remain in my memory forever.

Because I love reading, I seem to know more than children of the same age, and I have richer feelings and thoughts. I always like to think about things by myself, and I always have my own opinions on any issue.

I remember one time when my father and his colleagues at school were talking about something, I interjected a sentence, but I can’t remember the content.

But I remember the teacher said to my father: "You are a great little girl. You will definitely be able to do big things in the future." Reading made me very curious about knowledge and developed a competitive character.

When I was in the fifth grade of elementary school, new textbooks were issued. There were many example questions in the arithmetic textbook.

I followed the notes in the mathematics textbook and practiced the examples. The more I did it, the more interesting it became.

In one week, I finished all the arithmetic problems in the previous semester.

Later, Teacher Lu, who taught mathematics, said to my mother: "Your daughter is very smart. She can complete the entire semester's course in seven days. She is unique among my students." Of course my mother was very happy to hear this.

Once, I found a novel describing geological exploration team members exploring in deep mountains and wild valleys.

I forgot the name of the book, but the nature, geography and scientific knowledge described in the book deeply attracted me, especially the interesting stories about the life and work of the exploration team members, the difficult journey, unexpected thrills, and the scenes of fighting wild boars.

There are also hammocks hanging on the forks of trees for sleeping at night, and the romantic stories among the team members, which all surprised me.

During that time, being an exploration team member became my ideal.

I am determined to study hard and experience the exciting adventure life in the wild when I grow up.

There is a hardcover book called "The Story of the Stone" on the bookshelf of the second father. I read it when I was a child, but I couldn't understand it.

One year during the summer vacation, I was finally able to recognize 40% of the words in the book, so I picked up my father's book collection "The Story of the Stone". This was the most difficult book I have ever read.

That "The Story of the Stone" is a 1930 edition, written by Cao Zhan, and printed in traditional Chinese vertical format.

There is a preface at the beginning of the volume and a general commentary, which takes up dozens of pages - a table of contents with additional commentary and pictures on the stones: a preface by the owner of the flower protector, a general comment by the owner of the flower protector, a general comment by the owner of the flower protector, a general comment by the mountain people of a certain area, a general comment by the owner of Mingzhai, etc.

, and the text on the page is annotated in the box circled above each page.

At that time, I couldn't understand these general comments and turned directly to the theme of the novel.

I have never learned traditional Chinese characters, and the layout is vertical, so it is difficult to read. I had to point at each word with my fingers and read them one by one. In fact, many of the meanings written in the book are based on the meanings of the previous words and the following words that I knew at the time.

Guessed.

What I like the most is the additional commentary and accompanying illustrations on the Stone Story.

The line drawings of the characters and the illustrations in the book are all lifelike and full of personality.

The complex and detailed general map of the Grand View Garden also fascinates me. I always look for the Yihong Courtyard and the Xiaoxiang Pavilion in the picture, and I often immerse myself in the plot of the book.
