Zhengding is one of the Three Heroes in the North. It has a long history, profound cultural heritage, and many places of interest and is worth a visit.
When you come to Zhengding, you can’t miss Kaiyuan Temple, Yanghe Tower, Linji Temple and other scenic spots.
In addition to pursuing monuments, you should also taste local food so that you can get closer to the city.
Regarding transportation, if you fly directly to Shijiazhuang Airport, there is an airport shuttle bus to Zhengding County and the same line back.
The fare is 20 yuan.
When you come back, go to the Venus Holiday Hotel to wait for the bus. This is the closest point to Zhengding Ancient City.
As a result, the driver told me that the latest airport bus was to arrive at the airport at 4pm!
Regarding the weather, although Zhengding County itself attaches great importance to environmental protection, it is located in Hebei Province, which is surrounded by heavy industry, so the air quality is unstable and there is haze from time to time.
Before I went there, there was severe smog in May and the pollution was extremely bad.
Therefore, it is recommended to check the latest weather forecast before going to Zhengding.
It’s not good when you encounter smog!
Recommended itinerary In a certain day and a half, I tried to measure the traces of history with my feet.
On the first day, Kaiyuan Temple - Yanghe Tower - Linji Temple - Guanghui Temple - South City Gate - looking back at various night scenes.
The next day, Longxing Temple - Tianning Temple - Zhengding County Confucian Temple - Tang Fengdong Monument - Zhengding Prefecture Confucian Temple Regarding accommodation, I chose Yanshan Express Hotel for this stay.
Hardware-wise, this is a hotel configuration at best, but the location is excellent.
Within a radius of 2 kilometers, there are four pagodas, one temple, one city wall and two Confucius temples around it, as well as various Zhengding delicacies, which is very convenient.
Regarding food, Zhengding’s special food includes Chinese cuisine, such as Zhengding Eight Bowls.
In addition to eating these eight bowls on the spot, they are also made into gift boxes to take away.
There are also various snacks and delicacies, such as Wang’s different bacon, Wang’s old hen, Wang’s traditional Shaomai and Hao’s pork ribs.
List of Attractions Kaiyuan Temple Kaiyuan Temple is the Jingguan Temple mentioned in the previous story.
In the eleventh year of Emperor Huang Kai of the Sui Dynasty (AD 591), it was renamed Jiehui Temple. During the Kaiyuan period of the Tang Dynasty, it was renamed Kaiyuan Temple in response to the call of Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty.
Coming down the steps, although the tenement tower and the bell tower are in front of you, first of all, you see a huge and elegant figure in front of you.
It was unearthed west of Fuqian Street in Zhengding in 2000 and later moved to Kaiyuan Temple.
It is actually a stone tablet.
With a plump figure and an astonishing weight, Solo is 8.4 meters long, 3.2 meters wide, 2.6 meters high and weighs 107 tons, making him the largest in China.
There is also a remaining monument next to it, weighing 14 tons.
It looks like an eagle with two claws and two dragons playing with beads, and in the middle is a flame-shaped orb, which is very beautiful.
Yang No. 1, Yanghe Tower.
Now, Yanghe Tower has been rebuilt across South Street from the south gate of Zhengding City.
The original Yanghe Tower was built in the late Jin Dynasty and early Yuan Dynasty, and was repaired in the Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties.
The seven-story building is built on a high, open brick platform.
There is a circular arched entrance under the platform, one on the left and one on the left, through which pedestrians, cars and horses can pass.
Its layout is a bit like the Tiananmen Gate in Beijing, but there is a sloping platform of the Guandi Temple in the middle on the south side.
Sadly, the Yanghe Building was demolished in the 1960s.
Although it was rebuilt today, it feels like something is missing after all!
It is mentioned in the story of Linji Temple that Linji Temple is one of the oldest temples in Zhengding and began in the Eastern Wei Dynasty.
In the eighth year of the Tang Dynasty (854), monk Yi_ founded Linji Sect here.
Due to the steep peaks of the Linji sect, it has gained a great reputation at home and abroad and has become the most widely spread Zen sect.
Every year, eminent monks from Asia, Europe, Australia and even North America come here to worship their ancestors.
Therefore, Zhengding Linji Temple is the earliest Buddhist Linji Taoist temple in the world and the ancestral temple of Linji religion in the world.
Chengling Pagoda, one of the four Zhengding Pagodas, is the pagoda of the eminent monk Yi_ in the Tang Dynasty.
It is a brick octagonal tower with nine levels of dense eaves and a height of 30.47 meters.
It was rebuilt during the reign of King Dading (l161-l189).
