Taiyuan Classic Snack Shop. Under the Jiancaoping Overpass, there is a cooked meat shop famous for selling fat sausages.
It's very delicious. You can buy it and fry it yourself. It's an absolute pleasure.
2. Opposite the Financial Building, on Xinjian Road, there is a restaurant called Huangshan Hotel that you can try. The price depends on the dishes you order.
3. A little north of the intersection of Fuxi Street and Jiefang Road, downstairs of the Intermediate Court, there is a Fat Cow Steamed Bun Restaurant. Many celebrities have eaten there. It is considered the earliest steamed bun restaurant in Taiyuan.
4. North of Wuyi Road, the former site of National Normal University, not far from Taiyuan University.
There is a shop there called Donkey Meat Fragrance, which sells donkey meat hotpot, donkey meat steamed dumplings, and donkey meat cakes. Everyone has to order them and eat them all.
5. On Xinjian North Road, Donggang Harbor Plaza is 100 meters north.
Wheat oil noodles, if the store wasn't so small, the queue of cars at the entrance would definitely outshine Donggang Harbor Plaza.
6. Then we go to Taoyuan Alley 2. Usually I go to Alley 2 to eat noodles first. The store seems to be called Wang Ping Noodle Shop.
Then go to Jiangnan Waishui opposite the noodle shop, buy red bean porridge, and then pair it with meat patties. It's perfect.
Jiangnan’s eggplant buns and wonton stew are also delicious.
Also, the hot noodle shop next to the noodle shop is also good.
The steamed rice rolls at the Hot Spicy Rice Noodle Shop in Erxiang are definitely better than those in Wenyuan Alley.
7. Taoyuan Lane 3, Zhiyong Hotel.
It's said to be a big hotel, but it's actually just a courtyard with a few tables and a big tree at the door.
Zhiyong’s homemade pork head meat is also good.
8. There is a small shop selling mutton skewers near Taoyuan Elementary School. It was originally opposite Tianlong Supermarket on Taoyuan Lane 4, but moved there due to road market management.
There were a lot of people and it was very delicious.
Yanqingguan Fried Chicken across from Taoyuan Elementary School has also been standing for many years.
Opposite the Tiankelong Supermarket on Taoyuan North Road, there is Hong Lao Wu Mutton Skewers, which is also a classic.
This shop is the famous Hong Lao Wu mutton skewers shop under Yifen Bridge.
9. There is a small shop in a building on the left side of the downstairs of the Electric Power Bureau. It is called "Lao Sanyan Noodle House". It is recommended to eat braised noodles at noon.
There is also Fenyang’s own brewed wine, which is pretty good, and by the way, they also have their own pork head meat, which is delicious!
10. It is said that there is another NB store on Banpo West Street. The address is a house facing the street, and this store does not even have a signboard.
The aunties inside are awesome. When you enter, you will be asked to fetch the dishes and chopsticks by yourself. You are not allowed to call other waiters. You must call them aunties, eldest sisters, etc.
Then you find a place to sit by yourself. They don't greet you at all and just cook a few dishes. But there are still many people there, and there are usually good cars parked in front of the door.
The hairtail fish inside is quite famous.
This store also has weekends off. They call this store Xiaodonghai (Note: Donghai is the most NB seafood hotel in Taiyuan).
The pancakes next to the restroom on Banpo East Street and the shredded pork ramen opposite the restroom are highly recommended. The pancakes are best paired with ramen. They are really delicious and not expensive.
11. Jiaji Noodles on Banpo East Street and Xinlong Street behind the wide screen are also quite good and worth a try.
In an alley at the north entrance of Banpo East Street, there is a soy sauce restaurant, which specializes in soy sauce meat and braised noodles.
12. At the entrance of Xiyang City, there is a Sheep and Xiezi shop. It is a small store and has been open for many years.
There are also a lot of people every day, and it’s much more delicious than the lamb and scorpion in a big hotel.
13. There is a restaurant in the Xiyang City Bathhouse. The facade is very small. You have to walk into the bathhouse to see it. It is packed every day. If you have never been there, it is necessary to go there. The pickled pepper snail meat is their signature dish, and the flame beef is also
good.
Next we arrived, 30 meters north of the Gulou Police Station on Jiefang Road, there was a Takeda food stall, which was pretty good!
14. Opposite the non-staple food building on Jiefang Road, and now opposite the Ruilong Hotel, there is a newly emerged restaurant called Dulaweiwei. The Wanzhou grilled fish inside is a specialty, and everyone who has eaten it says it is good.
Just next to the grilled fish restaurant, there is a halal hot pot called Zhen Deshun, which is definitely not inferior to Dong Lai Shun in Beijing.
15. Next we went to the food street. In the north section of the food street, there is a long-established Yang Ji’s enema shop. I recommend trying the spicy hotpot there.
Next to Yang Ji, there is a street called Mutton Soup and Haggis on Gulou Street. Taiyuan’s relatively cool mutton soup restaurants are all on this street. However, after the reconstruction of the old city, there are not many mutton soup restaurants left there.
16. Then we went to Quanwazi’s house at the south entrance of the food street. The dandan noodles bought there are very good and have been for a long time. It is said that the owner is the same owner as Niuwangmiao, which is great.
Next to the dandan noodle shop, there is a shop selling electric grilled mutton skewers. It is an absolute classic and must be eaten every time.
The Chuanchuanxiang in Balingqiao is indeed amazing. It used to be as popular as when Tangdu first opened, with huge crowds. Later, it was rectified and now it is called Qulihong Chuanchuanxiang at the south entrance of the food street.
17. In Houkaihua Temple, there is a snack forest at the entrance of Gu Gu'an. The hot jelly there is definitely the only one in Taiyuan. It is really delicious.
The pear soup there is also delicious, and the addition of vegetables, eggs, and ham cakes is also delicious.
Fenjiu Building’s puree wine is so delicious that it’s free.
18. Everyone in Taiyuan knows about Haogang Haggis in Liubeikou. If you want to eat it, go and line up early.
There is a Chengdu specialty snack restaurant opposite Hao Gangang, and I highly recommend the maocai and cold noodles.
19. There were also three famous restaurants in Cha Yuanhou in Liuxiang back then. The Cha Yuanhou Bun Shop is still preserved today.
Let’s have some porridge, some stewed meat, and some steamed buns. These are the three things we must order every time we go.
Tianjin is ignored, while Taiyuan is under the supervision of the procuratorate.
