The living habits of cicadas:

The representative species of cicada insects. The male has a vocal organ on its abdomen that can continuously make sharp sounds. The female is silent but has a hearing device on her abdomen. The larvae live in the soil and suck the roots of plants, while the adults feed on plant juices. Cicadas belong to the category of incomplete metamorphosis, from eggs and larvae (nymphs) to adults after molting several times without going through the pupa stage.

Capturing cicadas:

If there is no rain or drought after the summer solstice every year, the breeding site can be artificially watered to attract cicada monkeys to emerge. Before the cicada monkeys are unearthed, or before the cicada monkeys mature, a smooth plastic film can be tied around the tree trunk 30 cm above the ground to prevent the cicada monkeys from continuing to crawl up the tree for harvesting.
