Tangqi Town is located in the north of Hangzhou, bordering Deqing County, Huzhou City, about 20 kilometers away from the urban area and 3 kilometers away from Linping/KLOC-0. The famous Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal passes through the town and becomes an important waterway for Jiangsu, Shanghai, Jiaxing and Huzhou. Tangqi has been the water gateway of Hangzhou since ancient times.

Tangqi Ancient Town is located in Yuhang, the starting point of Hangzhou section of Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal. There are some old houses in Lane 3 and a half of Shihe Historic District near Shuinan Street, which are also worth visiting.
