The origin of the names of Zhongshan City and its towns. Zhongshan City is located in the south-central part of the Pearl River Delta, on the west bank of the Pearl River estuary. It faces Shenzhen City across the Lingding Ocean in the east, borders Zhuhai City in the south through hilly plateaus, and is separated from Jiangmen by the Modaomen Waterway in the west.
It is adjacent to Foshan City and Guangzhou City, and is connected to Foshan City and Guangzhou City in the north by the alluvial plains crisscrossed by river networks.

In the 10th year of the Republic of China (1921), the city wall was demolished and collectively called Shiqi. In the 17th year of the Republic of China (1928), Shiqi Town was established.
In 1953, it was renamed Shiqi City.

It is said that Yuelai Street existed when the city was built in 1154, the 24th year of Shaoxing in the Southern Song Dynasty. A plaque on the gatehouse at the entrance of the street read "near Yuanlai".
It was changed to Hongqi Road in 1969 and renamed Yuelai Road in 1981.

According to legend, the village was founded by people with surnames such as Shi, Wu, and Wu in the early Yuan Dynasty. Because the village was located at the southern foot of Yuanshan Mountain, its name was Shanzi Village.
In the early years of Guangxu's reign in the Qing Dynasty, it was called Xiayuanshan Village.
During the Republic of China, the villagers believed that the peak was higher than the mountain, so it was renamed Yuanfeng, and the village was also renamed its current name.
8. Hengmei is located 6 kilometers southwest of Zhongshan City.
At the end of the Southern Song Dynasty, people surnamed Li moved here from Xinhui Hetang Village.
In order to commemorate the hometown, it was named after Heng (Fangyin River) Mei.
9. The ferry is 6.7 kilometers southwest of Zhongshan City.
It belongs to the ring city area.
In the 18th year of Hongwu in the Ming Dynasty (1385), the village was built on the south bank of the Shiqi River. A boat ferry dock was built on the bank, commonly known as Dutou.
10. Zhangjiabian is 7.5 kilometers northeast of Zhongshan City.
It is adjacent to Hengmen Waterway in the north.
During the Xianchun period of the Southern Song Dynasty (1265-1274), Zhang Fenggang's family moved here from Zhangpo'ao, the capital of the Song Dynasty. Because the village is located on the seaside and is the first residence of the Zhang surname, it was named Zhangjiabian Village.

The village is west of the fork of the upstream Xiaoyin River. It was first called Xixi and later renamed Xiya.
Because "Ya" and "桠" are synonymous, it was named after the third year of Xuantong in the Qing Dynasty (1911).

Because yellow chrysanthemums once flourished on the hillside near the town, it was like a large natural flower garden, so it was named Dahuang Garden, later referred to as Huang Garden.
Huangpu Town was built in 1952.
