When it comes to food, people always think of famous restaurants and food cities. But in fact, in the eyes of many people, their city may be like a gourmet desert, and it is difficult to find satisfactory restaurants and food. As a food lover, I have searched for food in many cities. Here I want to talk about five food deserts in my mind.

1. Harbin

Harbin is an important city in Northeast China and a tourist attraction in the eyes of many food lovers. However, in my eyes, Harbin is a gourmet desert. Although Harbin is famous for Russian cuisine, Northeast cuisine and delicious aquatic products, these foods often exist only in high-end restaurants. For ordinary citizens, it is not easy to taste authentic northeast dishes or fresh seafood.

Nanjing is a city with a long history, where various food cultures are intertwined. However, when I traveled to Nanjing, I felt that Nanjing was also a gourmet desert. Although there are many famous snacks in Nanjing, such as duck blood vermicelli soup, Yangzhou fried rice, duck blood duck intestines, etc., most of these foods can only be tasted in roadside stalls or some humble shops, and it is difficult to find authentic tastes.

Third, Changsha

Changsha is the capital city of Hunan Province and has many famous Hunan dishes. However, when I traveled to Changsha, I also felt the food desert of this city. Although there are many famous restaurants and snack bars in Changsha, the food in many restaurants and snack bars is too spicy for people who are not used to spicy food.

Fourth, Hefei

Hefei is the capital city of Anhui Province, which is rich in Anhui cuisine culture. However, when I traveled to Hefei, I also discovered the food desert of this city. Although there are many famous Huizhou restaurants and snack bars in Hefei, most of these foods are mediocre and hard to satisfy. Moreover, in some snack bars, the sanitary conditions are also poor, which may be unacceptable to people with high sanitary requirements.

v. Haikou

Haikou is the capital city of Hainan Province and a city with strong Hainan culture. However, when I traveled to Haikou, I also felt the food desert of this city. Although there are many famous Hainanese restaurants and snack bars in Haikou, the dishes in most stores are too sweet and greasy, which may not be to the taste of people who don't like sweets.
